Looks like GarPax is matching the offer. Damn. OH well. Let's hype up the Tank Commander.

And when was the last time the Bulls signed a max free agent from another team...??? Not happening bud. Bulls match this since they can't convince anyone to come to or stay with this franchise.

Boozer, Gasol, Wallace. And just because it never happened in the past, doesn't mean it won't ever. Haven't you ever read the fine print "past performance is no guarantee of future results"?

All 3 guys best days were behind them, and Boozer was plan B or C after striking out on the REAL prizes that offseason. The only good signing of that bunch was Gasol.

But that being said, I agree we still should try swinging the bat anyway. Make sure theres 2 MAX slots open for next season to atleast give us a chance at the Butler/Kyrie combo. That is our only shot at getting out of NBA hell either way

I fully expect them to match. And I’ll continue getting more ambivalent about the Bulls. I’ve watched consistently less of them in recent years. I’ve lived out of market for ten years and this is the first year I have no intention of renewing my league pass.

the KC column is just an updated version of something he wrote before the offer sheet came out. he was actually castigating the team for not being more proactive in locking up lavine.

i think the bulls are going to match, but i don't think he's being the messenger for them

Of course, I wouldn't match. But I do not run the Bulls.

You failed to account for the stupidity of the Kings. Which, is pretty stupid

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

For once, I actually agree with KC.

That article coming out = Bulls are matching. Using KC to try and get out ahead and spin it.

You guys really think it's bad to pay a 23 year old who has a better skillset than any of these players this money?

So ...let me get this straight ... you want the Bulls to emulate those contracts?

And those three names is exactly why relying on free agency with this front office is by far the worst way to go. It's bitten the Bulls franchise so many times in the past, yet for some reason everyone on these forums thinks that they'll get it right this time! :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Cap space is NOT only good for free agency.

That's like saying that you only need butter if you plan on making toast, as if it has no other uses.

Even trading for someone on a big contract is made possible if you send out cash or receive draft picks, to make the salaries match.

A swing and a miss in free agency is only one of MANY scenarios where cap space has use.

I wonder how highly regarded Zach would be if the dunk contest, instagram and kettlebells didn’t exist.

I read that the offense will feature Lauri more.

...Do you guys really think Zach is having that? @ 20M, it validates him to shoe-horn his Kobe aspirations.

Offer was from the Kings though, which isn't exactly the standard of how an NBA franchise should be run, so you've got that going for you.

You can't win if you don't try. A lot of teams strike out in free agency. The key is having a quality core of young talent.

The mistake was adding our 16th pick to the Jimmy trade to get zach included (as was reported after the fact). Dunn and 7 for Jimmy, draft OG at 16 and avoid this stupid mess all together.

So you pay this guy and expect him to be cool with not being the focual point of your offense, oh and actually play defense. Good luck with that.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

I agree with the folks who say the optics look very bad if Bulls don't match. But that's not a reason to match/not match, Bulls front office will catch flak either way.

For my taste, I'd rather resign Nwaba and go into next season with 4 average to above average wing defenders who also won't have the same potential Zach does to hijack the offense.

But I suspect the Bulls will match, and hopefully Zach will raise his game and I"ll gladly eat crow.

God damnit. KC is slowly boiling the water so we don't jump out. ****.

Yeah KC the voice of GarPax is already preparing fans for a match so most likely they will match......if this impacts us potentially getting two FA to come to Chicago to play buddy ball GarPax deserves to finally be fired. We will see within two years if it’s worth it or not.

Raps fan however forever Bulls fan due to MJ here.

Bulls do not match, I repeat do not match. Lavine is not worth it and management will regret the signing if they match.

Let the young gets develop build through the draft and sign that stud player through free agency with the cap space when the time is right.

Return to Chicago Bulls
