How do you match a Vlade Divac contract? Wish Zach well in the firey hellhole that is Sacramento.

This is exactly what I said would happen. Everyone on here said he would get offers at 12-13 million..lol ok. I expect Bulls to match as well

Of course, I wouldn't match. But I do not run the Bulls.

You failed to account for the stupidity of the Kings. Which, is pretty stupid

Kings are stupid but at the same time they don’t really have that many options anyway. Sure they got bagley and Fox but nothing else. They don’t even have a pick next year so this potential move would bring some excitement to fans and hope he reaches his full potential.

Don't think the Bulls are going to regret it either way, but, it's 100% the right option to either lock him up long term now or let him walk. No 1+1 games or going back to the table next year.

The other part of the "we might regret it" train of thought is that he is going to the KINGS. This won't be an Oladipo situation where he gets better and the team makes strides, it's the KINGS.

I'm done here.

Seriously. Matching this is insanity. He's never been anything but a highlight reel on bad teams.

If they match and he sucks this is it for GarPax. You think if nothing else they'd lean on letting him walk as it buys them more time.

Christ, listen to me. This is what we've been reduced to as Bulls fans. Hoping our own management is smart enough to realize their job security would be endangered.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

If the Bulls match Lavine let’s hope for the best and he breaks out and plays up to the contract. If he walks, gas up the tank and let’s go for Zion.

You guys really think it's bad to pay a 23 year old who has a better skillset than any of these players this money?

So ...let me get this straight ... you want the Bulls to emulate those contracts?

No I'm saying you can't say he's not worth it when a market has been set since the cap went up and inferior players are getting similar amounts

Tim hardaway jr is not a better player than zach lavine and he got 72 mil. Lavine will get 6 mil more

Jesus Christ. If we don't match, can we please not still just waste money? Keep 2 max slots open for next year. If no Zach, then lets just roll with Hutchison at the 2 and Valentine at the 3 and see if anythings there, while having major cap flexibility throughout the season. Even if they get Hood on a 1 year deal, i would still start Hutch and Val. Push the guys that might actually have futures here

HELL TO THE NO! Matching looks us into mediocrity forever. We will have the same success with or without him. Let him walk.

Exactly, and it's in the West.

Even if they became GREAT, would they beat OKC? Houston? LA Lakers? GSW? Minnesota? Denver? A reuild Phoenix? San Antonio? New Orleans?

Man.

Let. Zach. Walk.

The thing with his gf and him quoting friedell kinda piss me off more than they should. The nerve of this guy that’s never contributed anything to a winning team acting like he’s coming off a career year or something.
I'm not here to argue.

That's kind of similar to the way I feel. I'm not going to be up in arms if they don't match, because I can understand the other side of the argument, but I'm still leaning towards re-signing him, because I'm not at all confident they're going to be able to do much of anything with that cap space anyways, as far as signing a superstar-caliber player. The Bulls are going to have to do this thing with the assets they already have, or by trade, so losing one of their promising young players for nothing doesn't make much sense to me. If you have to overpay, I'm fine doing it for a 23 year old.

It's not like we'll be playing against the Kings in the Finals.

Bye, Zach.

Yeah KC the voice of GarPax is already preparing fans for a match so most likely they will match......if this impacts us potentially getting two FA to come to Chicago to play buddy ball GarPax deserves to finally be fired. We will see within two years if it’s worth it or not.

Maybe but not necessarily. KC kept writing about Bridges before the draft and even Porter,Bulls obviously got neither of them and they were available. Also last year he was off about the jimmy situation. Again maybe he could be right now about Lavine but doesn’t mean he’s always on point.

You know they’ll match and we will hear the old-phrase, “we like our core”. Paxson has a lifetime head of front office gig no matter what he does anyway.

Dave Haugh is such a know nothing tool. "Potentially means to the franchise". Yeah, if he suddenly becomes the next Kobe Bryant. But what are the odds? You don't throw a bunch of money at a guy because you need him to rescue your franchise. What a bad idea.
