Also “He was our first choice from day 1. It was an easy choice.”

Hahaha how did I forget this! Brilliant
Although it would be “it was easy choice”

Look aside from the rookie the Bulls got last year Lavine is their best player even though he was hurt . I am 90% sure bulls will sign him .
No worries here !

He really wasn't close to our best player. Granted he was coming off an injury.

Niko was our best player by far before they traded him.

I disagree . However we are allowed to have our own opinions . So I respect your but I think I am right !

Lavine is alright prospect but I just don't like the message it sends to the other guards on the team. Bulls will match this so in the end it's playing games with other teams per usual.

Yes. You're allowed to have your own opinion. People also have the opinion that the Earth is flat, but actual facts/data proves otherwise.

Lavine was a net negative on the court and has been every season he's been in the league.

Sorry man. It may be smart from Vlade’s end if this is the case. At least Lavine fits in Chicago and should be loads better than last year.

Yeah, he does have upside, fingers crossed.

All in all I think Lavine at 20 isn't the worst contract in the league by far, but I just read something that makes it sound like if the Bulls do match it effectively puts them in a rough position to take on bad contracts for assets. This could very well be a chess move from Vlade.

Part of me absolutely hates this. IF Lavine never got injured he was a 21-22 year old averaging 19/7 3s per game/40% 3pt. I would have been a ton more okay. Last year he was horrific... I guess we can hope he rebounds back to his old self and roll out

WCS/Giles
Bagley/Skal
Bogdan/Jackson
Lavine/Hield
Fox/Lavine

Which would be a young athletic fun team with plenty of shooting. The only problem is that projects to be a horrible defensive team and I was really hoping Buddy/Bogdan would become the starting 2/3s.

Lets all hope the Bulls match. I prefer Smart.

If the Bulls don’t match that will be the line up for sure, unless there is a trade for a 5.

I don't love this. But as long as we don't trade one of Bogdan/Buddy I can live with it. If they trade one of those guys, i wont give them another dollar until they prove me wrong.

It forces CHI to use their cap space so the King's cap space becomes just as if not more valuable for trade assets.

Yes as I said . Kings knew they would match . This was Brilliant by the Kings brass . Make them use their cap & over pay .
This gives the Kings a lot more leverage in trades .

Kings & Hawks are the main teams that have cap now & can take on bad contracts .

Kings could easily put another offer sheet now out to another player . Cough , Cough , Jabari Parker whom they know would get match as an example .

Another route is taking on a 1 yr. bad contract to get a 1st round pick .
