Lmao of course they would match. I get it but I do not agree with it. Hope Zach can earn his money

Celtics: Shamelessly get rid of fan favorite Isiah Thomas in the better interest of the franchise but not without hurting their public persona with their fans

Bulls: Overpay Zach Lavine, who has player 24 games for the franchise, so they don't have face the media and fan bullets for trading the "centerpiece" of the Butler trade

Can someone outline our capspace next summer. If $45M is the number then you have room for 1 MAX and another solid guy (if anyone comes).

One max plus 8-9M leftover. As opposed to 2 maxes (hi Jimmy and kyrie. Bye Jimmy and kyrie)

Well Jimmy and Kyrie were never coming here but ya...

this isn't a good move, but it's a move that you almost have to make if you genuinely like lavine as a prospect.

if he pans out and the only reason you stopped yourself from keeping him is because you didn't want to spend money when your team is years away from contending and well below the cap? it's inexcusable.

the key now is getting him to play within a team context. just because he has this deal, you can't take it easy on him if the ball is sticking or he's taking on too much responsibility. pull him if you have to. it's on our coaching staff to mold him into a good player.

he was trending upwards before he got hurt. this is his first offseason he's had to work on his game since his age 21 season. there's a solid foundation to work with here. now that he's on his deal, the whole organization should be judged on whether he realizes his potential.

Guys, the money was either going to Lavine or an offer to Jabari Parker. Or it was going in the bank account of Daddy Warbucks. No magic FA was walking through the door this year or next.

Are ignoring now that he's been horrible every year of his career, and last year was more or less in line with his career with a small drop in ts%?

A small drop? He had a TS% of .57 his last year with the Wolves and a .49 TS % with the Bulls. One is very good and one is very bad. I don't think you know what "horrible" means. He was awful last year, and it's not difficult to figure out why.

I don’t think you’ve looked at any of the advanced stats if you thought last year derailed a good player’s career. He’s been very bad every single year of his career.

the other lesson to learn here is that we should not make a habit of putting ourselves in this position.

if you have any questions about the future of bobby portis or denzel valentine or kris dunn on this team, start exploring potential trades for them right away.don't repeatedly get to the brink where you have to pay more than you'd like for a guy or let him walk completely. be more judicious early on regarding who's a long-term piece and who isn't.

Now with Lavine signed. I Hope the Bulls sign Nwaba to a 1yr deal and trade Holiday or sign and trade Nwaba for draft capital (probably a 2nd rd pick)

We don't have enough minutes for Lavine, Hutchison, Valetine, Holiday and Nwaba.

Great call to match. Eager to see the yearly details and if it’s front loaded to around 21.5 this year. With creativity we can still bring in two maxes if they (unlikely) decide to come to the Bulls.

He’s really going to break out this year, and it’s going to be really fun to watch. He’s only 23, it’s strange that some of you write him off. You would have written off plenty of future stars in the past as well if judging them fully at such an age.

No need to argue with those who disagree with your opinion. I’m just happy we don’t have to watch Justin Holiday as a full time SG. Better to have Lavine on this deal than Devin Booker on his. It’s all perception. You’ll be eating crow a few weeks into the season in my opinion, that’s all it will take. Let’s play nice on the boards with those who might disagree, because believe it or not, nobody knows anything. It’s all predictions and opinions. Nobody writes Zach’s future but him.

Stop. You can not support terrible contracts. You must be related to Garpax.
