Monroe's motor did him in. Seemed like he didn't care if someone blew right by him. While Baynes gave his all. I am more than happy with Monroe not taking away minutes from a healthy Theis and Baynes.

Every time I crunch the numbers, I don't see a spot for Semi in the rotation this year as it is (assuming average injury luck to our bigs). Which is not ideal, because I believe he can still be developed into something quite useful.

He won't have a consistent spot in the rotation, but I bet he will certainly get spot minutes against Giannis/LeBron/Durant/etc. It depends a lot on matchups.

Morris getting traded would be least surprising to me. If we go over the tax line entering the season with Smart's signing, it's one of the easiest ways to get back under. With Hayward back and Semi waiting in the wings, I think we can afford to let Morris go, if need be. He might also hold some value to contenders in the West so a return of a late 1st wouldn't be unreasonable to expect.

Yeah I would honestly have zero problem with letting Morris go. While he admittedly grew on me a bit in the ECF, he's just too much of a ball-stopper, and while he is a decent defender, he isn't good enough on that end where you can ignore his iso tendencies offensively.

And let's be honest here: the only reason why Ainge even went out and got Morris last year was to trade Bradley in order to free up some space for Hayward. Morris just happened to be a solid match.

I know we all thought we sent out AB because we needed to clear space for Hayward, we did, but with time, I have come to believe the most important reason we traded AB was because they wanted him out of JB's way. They thought the kid was ready (turns out he was more than ready), to handle the starting spot and he fit into what CBS ultimately wants from his team, a long, switchable team. AB wasn't going to the bench and if healthy, they weren't paying him, when they felt they had the real deal in JB behind him already! So, in summation, he had to get out of JB's way more than anything because there were other moves to be made to clear the way for GH, if they wanted.
