Denver final roster decisions/Rotation Predictions
Lot of players and not much roster room for all of them. Who should Denver keep???
Current Roster
1.)Jamal Murray
2.)Gary Harris
3.)Will Barton
4.)Paul Millsap
5.)Nikola Jokic
6.)Trey Lyles
7.)Mason Plumlee
8.)Isaiah thomas
9.)Jarred vanderbilt
10.)Michael Porter Jr.
11.)Tyler Lydon
12.)Juancho Hernangomez
13.)Malik Beasley
14.)Torrey Craig
15.)?????
Two Way
16.)Thomas Welsh
17.)Monte Morris
Players that should be on roster
1.) Torrey Craig: has been practicing with team all summer, he'll definitely get one of the two remaining roster spots(Signed)
2.)Monte Morris: Has a head start of earning a back up pg spot. Should get one of the last two roster spots.
3.) Jarred Vanderbilt: High potential upside pick for Denver. Still rehabbing from Injury. Denver should be looking to give him an actual roster spot since he'll only be able to be with the team a certain amount of days on a two way deal. Denver needs to move a guy to make room for him. Should offer a 4 year deal similar to what Jokic got.(Signed)
4.) Vlatko Cancar: Doubt Denver brings him over with so many similar players. Probably stays 1 more year overseas to evaluate Juancho/Lydon/Porter Jr.
Guys who should be off the roster
1.) Darrell Arthur
2.) Kenneth Faried
3.)Malik Beasley

I would call this two "Guys who should be traded for cap space" ASAP. They are (Arthur especially) a negative asset right now, so no way we can trade them for a useful player. It is better to use our best asset, 2019 1st round pick, to dump this two and leave the luxury territory, and also to improve our backup SF/G spot.
The alternative is to find a bad expiring contract from another team and trade Faried (Arthur is useless). Here is possible options which I already presented today on other thread:
$13.8M Faried from Denver for:
$18.5M Matthews from Dallas (including 7.5M Arthur)
$15.5M DeMarre Carroll or $12.5M Jeremy Lyn from Brooklyn
$10.5M Tony Snell from Bucks
$8Mx2 C.J. Miles from Toronto
$7.5M Kyle Korver from Cavs
$7.5M Jeremy Lamb from Hornets
$7M Al-Farouq Aminu from Portland
$6M Wesley Johnson from LA Clippers (including DEN2019 2nd or Lydon)
I'm not sure should Porter Jr be part of our 12-man roster at any part of the season. Maybe the best solution for him is to redshirt MPJ like Sixers do it with Embiid and Simmons because of their injury problem. Juancho which can play SF, and Beasley, should get bigger priority than Lydon for sure. Craig, Morris or Cancar, only if deserve it with a big improvement.

Re: Denver final roster decisions
This list includes 16 players + Two-Ways - need to move one player for no player in return or not sign Cancar for another year, as was suggested.
Do the Nuggets need to have 15 on the roster? Trade two players for none?
Do the Nuggets need to sign 2 Two-Way?
9 Locked in
Jokic - Plumlee
Millsap - Lyles
Barton - Hernangomez
Harris - Beasley
Murray
2 Need to sign
Torrey Craig
Monte Morris
2 Trade or watch them sit
Darrell Arthur
Kenneth Faried
2 What to do?
Tyler Lydon
Vlatko Cancar
1 Waiting
Michael Porter Jr.
3 Two Way
Thomas Welsh?
Emanuel Terry?
Jarred Vanderbilt?

I hope that we sign Morris to spot #15 and can trade Faried to clear up another spot. Either trade him for a veteran guard/mentor type or sign one with the space.

Re: Denver final roster decisions
If Denver were to waive/stretch Faried, as of right this minute our cap would be around $125.5M, leaving out luxury tax total to be around $136.5M. Given that our current cap number is at $134M/luxury tax at $178.7M, that's a HUGE savings, well worth the $4.6M over the next two years.

Re: Denver final roster decisions
I think Faried is out but I doubt he is being stretched, in fact I would not be surprised to see him traded with one of the young guys to open up some roster and playing room, and I think they target a combo or PG to provide depth while upgrading Morris to a full contract. Then signing Welsh and Akoon Purcell to 2 way deals next year.

As Predicted, vanderbilt will hold one of the 15 roster spots. I expect Denver to move off Faried to create a roster spot for Morris.

Re: Denver final roster decisions/Rotation Predictions
What do you expect Malone's rotations to be? He has kept it fairly tight, opting for 7-8 man rotation at times. I think 9 would be ideal.
Jamal Murray(32)/Morris(16)
Harris(33)/Barton(15)
Will Barton(18)/Juancho Hernangomez(20)
Paul Millsap(30)/Trey Lyles(18)
Nikola Jokic(33)/Mason Plumlee(15)
Just a prediction, but I think Denver will try to move Plumlee before the start of the season. Everyone on the roster has been in and out of Denver getting workouts in and supporting each other in vegas. With the exception of Plumlee, I think the front office knows they made a huge mistake paying him that much. Has mentioned not getting a lot of minutes on RJ's pod. I could see Denver shipping him off and letting Lyles earn a bigger role. Roster as is caps him at most 15-18 mpg, and I believe Lyles has earned 20 -25 minutes for this team.

Fairly close but I don't think Morris will get that many minutes and his minutes will probably be more SG minutes, fighting with Beasley because Malone will have Barton playing PG part-time (again).
Not sure about Hernangomez's minutes because of Craig. Not sure about Lyles minutes because Malone likes Plumlee with Jokic.
Applying logic doesn't work because Malone has his own way of doing things and nobody seems to have figured out his rotations.

According to Denver Stiffs, Morris is still on the 2-way from last year. So we have a packed roster right now. I hope we can either buyout or trade Faried and open up a full spot for Morris and then use his vacant two-way spot.

Re: Denver final roster decisions/Rotation Predictions
Roster seems set unless there's a trade (which would be nice). The roster isn't bad and it will be up to Malone to make things work in terms of rotations and motivation.
Centers
Jokic forever, say no more
Plumlee - works as a backup, better than many others
Welsh - two-way could be called up in case of injury
I'm not a fan of using any of our forwards against the majority of centers in the league. They are either too short or too light or both.
Forwards
Millsap is a solid power forward
Lyles shows promise as a 4th or 5th option as a PF
Hernangomez shows promise at either forward slot
Craig looks like a solid defensive wing with fair offense
Porter will hopefully fit at either forward spot down the road
Lydon will find it hard to get PT
Vanderbilt is a long-range project based on injury and might find it hard to get PT
Faried & Arthur don't seem to have a slot for PT
The good news is that not all of our young forwards have to hit their potential in order for the team to do well in the long run.
Guards
Harris forever, say no more
Murray forever, say no more
Barton might play some SF but he's too short and doesn't have enough length or weight against many of the SFs in the league today IMO
Beasley hasn't proven himself and may find it hard to get PT
Morris - two-way it appears but he might be the best backup combo-guard the Nuggets have - his playing style is rather close to Murray's

Well, if Barton can play SF against Kawhi & LeBron & Durrant & Antetokounmpo & George & Simmons; why can't Craig play SG?

Well, there are 23 other SF's he'll get to play against and while he may not win those 6 battles against the top six SF's he could negate some of their dominance they had vs Chandler. He doesn't have to win, just help minimize their damage.
I still retain evaluation on Craig at SG until I see it, and I am a Craig fan
