When Diallo's shot is falling he looks like an NBA rotation player. That athleticism is off the charts. I do like the background and pedigree coming out of Kentucky with Coach Cal and that program versus someone (from what feels like the distant past at this point) like Perry Jones coming out of Baylor.

Yeah, what was that bizarre rant about retiring Durant's number? Last I checked the guy is still an active player in the league (he even prefaced it all with bringing up Dozier wearing 35 and then said it should be retired, implying he was talking present, not future tense). Did Matt Barnes hit Fisher hard enough to do permanent brain damage or something?

When a guy has a good performance in SL, you temper expectations. When a guy performs badly, it’s a causefor concern. It might be time to lower expectations for Ferguson.

I will say this for him, unlike Jeremy Lamb or Mitch McGary or several others we've had come through, Ferg isn't looking to just get numbers. He seems to be more fitting into the role he'll likely play with the real club (defense, spot up shooting). So I do like that. I just wish his shot went in more. His form on the jumper is low key bad. He doesn't appear to go straight up and down. Often his feet move forward along with his hand when he releases the shot.

Just saw the box score and wanted to point out that that was this team's backup PG an entire season.

I have to agree with Slick on this, Presti allowing the team to go with Christon an entire season actually getting minutes was the single craziest, most inexplicable thing Presti has done in his time here (everything else is at least understandable on some level). You want to give the guy a couple ten days to reward good behavior, whatever, but no way no how should he have been in a position to actually get meaningful minutes.

Yeah, looking back agreed, i was wrong on that one at the time.

I think it depends on the guy and the expectations. I expect Ferg to be a valuable three and d player who always requires a great set up man, playing outside of a system with guys looking to get their own isn't conducive to his game. He's looked worse than I'd expect even given that caveat, but I also figured 3 years of sucking before he'd be rotation level, so I'm just not that concerned.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

I’ve always thought he has a weird hitch to his shot. It’s disappointing but there are some significantly better players than Ferguson that aren’t doing well in SL.

Have I mentioned that I can't stand Daniel Hamilton? He's everything Russ is accused of being without talent.

His inability to do virtually anything offensively other than put his head down and try to bull his way to the rim is really glaring. If he had Russ' 15 foot jumper he might actually be an NBA player. Alas.

Burton is a smart player. I think he's got an outside chance to actually make it.

Smitty brought him up unprompted to me—said he had the chance to talk with him at SL. Really liked the kid.

Have seen a couple of people say he'll be a good addition, even locker-room wise.
