Ideal Minutes This Year

Post#1 » by Penberthy » Mon Jul 9, 2018 12:51 am

This is what I would like to see in order to keep everyone healthy and fresh for the playoffs. Can Luke convince everyone to buy into something close to this? (I realize a lot of these guys are going to bust 30 mins per, but I would prefer not)

Ball (28) Rondo (20)
KCP (28) Hart (20) Svi
Ingram (28) Stephenson (20) Bonga
Lebron (20) Kuzma (28)
McGee (16) Lebron (8) VetFA-Zu-Wagner (24)

With the current roster, this is definitely a rotation I can envision. I really hope they go without a traditional big man as part of the regular rotation.

Agreed but bron will play way more than 28 minutes. More like 36-38 minutes for bron.

If LeBron can keep his minutes down to 28per game that'd be awesome.

28 mpg for starters is basically saying we're going to be blowing out most teams that the starters won't be playing the 4th.

That's unrealistic

PG: Ball [28]/ Rondo [20]/
SG: KCP [32]/ Hart [12]/ Ball [4]
SF: Ingram [34]/ Hart [14]/
PF: James [20]/ Kuzma [28]/
C: McGee [14]/ LeBron [14]/ Wagner [20]

Personally, I would set a cap on LeBron's minutes at 34 a game. The only time that goes up is in an OT game. Other than that, I would put a minutes limit on him, at least until after the All Star Break. Under no condition should be play 40+ minutes unless it's a double OT game.

Lonzo 20, Rondo 28
KCP 28, Lonzo 8, Hart 12
Ingram 32, Hart 16
LBJ 22, Kuzma 22, Ingram 4
McGee 12, LBJ 14, Kuzma 12

With current roster I expect to see a lot of Rondo/Lonzo (or both) and rest fill with wings lineups.

I can’t see Bron playing center for more than five minutes a game. Especially in the regular season. I wouldn’t want him to either.

We should watch Brons MInutes in the 1st half the season - don't want him going down with an injury especially in the retirement years - 1 injury way IMO - depending how bad the injury of course.

I could buy this. Would love to see Svi get some minutes, but that doesn't seem feasible, barring injuries of course. I would also give Kuzma's minutes at center to Wagner. Kuzma should never play center, for any stretch, in my opinion. I would also give some of Hart's minutes at SF to Kuzma.

Something like the below should work:

Lonzo 20, Rondo 28
KCP 28, Lonzo 8, Hart 12
Ingram 32, Kuzma 8,Hart 8
LBJ 22, Kuzma 22, Ingram 4
McGee 12, LBJ 14, Waggy 12

Edit: Where's Stevenson?? I completely forgot about him. He should probably steal minutes from Hart and Kuzma.

I would love it too if they kept LeBron’s minutes down but I wonder if that truly happens. I also believe that given current roster construction that LBJ will see center minutes.

PG: Lonzo 24 Rondo 24
SG: KCP 26 Lonzo 8 Lance 10 Hart 4
SF: Ingram 32 Hart 10 Lance 6
PF: LeBron 20 Kuzma 28
C: McGee 16 LeBron 14 Zubac/Wagner 18

This team is **** young man.

We have 14 guys with guaranteed contracts and the average age is 25.1 even with Deng's corpse.
If you substract Deng who obviously will not play, the average drops to 24.5.

It's gonna be hard to keep everybody satisfied but the depth is reassuring. If somebody sans Lebron will get hurt, we won't miss a beat.
