My guess:

15-17ppg
5-6apg (depends on how much he will get to have the ball in his hands)
6-8rpg (I think playing SF will get him in a lot of positions for rebounds)

But yeah, I'd expect something similar.

Haha was just about to comment when i saw your post :D ......... Yea i personally think he will be in similar range.. 11-14pts / 5reb / 6-9 assists. I don't think his rebounds will be so high because DAL has other great athletes who can rebound much better in traffic.

Hard to predict though. We all have to see first how he fairs up athletically against established NBA players. That's why i wanted to see at least 1 SL game from him. But on the other hand, he has more time now to work on his body and ballhandling.

Giannis Antetokounmpo praises Luka Doncic

The ‘Greek Freak’ spoke highly of the 19-year old phenom: “He is the most exciting player that has appeared in basketball… in the recent years. I think he will have an immediate impact in the NBA. Last season he won the Spanish League, the EuroLeague, the EuroBasket and he was also the MVP of the Final Four and the regular season. He has shown that he is ready to play and has matured faster than the rest players. He has played against professionals, as Charles Barkley said. People in the NBA sometimes forget that in the EuroLeague competition, they play very well and very hard. It’s harder than the NCAA. You have to be very good to stand out in the EuroLeague, and Luka is.”

I think that Luka will play around 30min per game. He averaged 5,25 2pt FGA, 5,25 3pt FGA and 5,95 FTA. I think that he will have maybe 1-3 FGA per game more than he had in euroleague, but I also expect his Free throws attempts to go down a bit.
So let's say around 13 FGA(6 3pt). Let's say that he will hit the 2pt around 50% and the 3pt around 35%. His FTA will drop a bit(I think he will have somwhere from3-4 free throw attempts per game, and I think he will have around 80%.
So it's around 15 points per game(14-17)
when it comes to rebounds I think the number will be the same as in euroleague(4-6)
And I think the assist numbers will go up(5-7)

that would give us a clear insight, since all the established NBA players play the SL

Your own coach RC said himself on air that SL is probably more athletic than NBA itself. A lot of running up and down the court and pace is also much faster. So yes, we would have at least an idea how he would fair up against established NBA players.

luka should learn whats allowed when it comes to traveling rule in the nba. giannis is a player who benefited alot from nba rules where he basically takes 3 aggresive steps to get to the rim.

Luka needs to take the 5-step fadeaway jumper than James Harden does.

With all this talk "Luka, the new face and the future of Mavs" and so on - how do you guys think DSJ will handling that? He was THE talent and the future throughout whole past season and the guy a lot of hopes were put into for Mavs future, but now suddenly there's another guy who's taking all the highlights?

Sure it's often "the backcourt of the future", but Luka is still pretty much taking all the highlights for himself it seems.. is DSJ the kind of character that can handle this? Is his ego not too big? Can they actually become the Batman and Robin instead of Westbrook and Durant?

I think they'll be ok. They hung out a lot when Luka was in Dallas the past week. When Luka flew in from Europe the first guy he called was DSJ from the airport. Dennis met him and they got some shots up that night.

Dennis is a competitor. If you watched the plugged version of the summer league he was yelling at his teammates for taking it slow on defense. He was heard shouting "this aint college" which meant he needed more fire from his teammates. Luka I beleive is also a fierce competitor that doesnt like losing. That will work well. These are 19 year old kids. They'll figure it out.

I heard Kyrie already asked Cuban to be traded away, but then he was told he was not Mavs player anyway.

Not worried about their motor and winning mentality, I'm more worried about the ego. I really don't know much about DSJ, that's why I'm concerned. DSJ was THE thing for the last year or so and I guess he still believes he will be the better player, but what if Doncic completely takes over? Can his ego handle that? To be the 2nd name on the team to a guy who is 2 years younger (DSJ will be 21 in November, Luka just turned 19 few months ago).

That's why I brought Westbrook - Durant forward, they were both elite players, but couldn't really co-exist on the same team, for whatever reasons. I know Luka is not selfish and doesn't care about spotlights, he just wants the ball and play. But I have no idea about DSJ and his character.

Sure the "he flew to USA and called DSJ" sounds good and all, and there's no way DSJ would turn it down as that would be a horrible sign, but I'd not read too much into it - it's a good PR thing if nothing else. Also DSJ wrote the "I'm a fan" as draft response when Trae Young was drafted, before the trade was announced - never updated it after or anything.

I wouldnt over analyze. If Shaq and Kobe can play together for years then they should be able to or else Rick Carlisle will put his shoe in their a$$es if they try anything funny.

Yeah, but Shaq and Kobe were winning titles, so there was that going for them at least.. but still didn't last. Here we have 2 young players who both have the talent to be the face of an organization, but in the end only one really becomes that. I'm not trying to over-analyze, but I'm just stressing my concern, with everyone just seeing the positives but not taking people's egos and characters into account.

But as I said, I don't know anything about DSJ as a person, that's why I'm asking.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
