Maybe to keep Reed and Daniels both? If we are gonna keep Reed, Daniels is really unnecessary IMO.

Again?

It seems that Chriss was not in basketball shape for Summer League.

I am not surprised.

Hopefully he's fit, just doesn't have that basketball stamina then. He looks good, fit, and in shape. There definitely IS a difference.. Maybe he just needs to go up and down and get that going now.

I hope. :-?

I was just going to say, we all saw that picture of him looking all slim and trim...maybe he's been working out and lost that baby fat, now needs to work on gaining weight, but good muscle weight. Like even though he is in good shape, not good enough shape to take on other PF/C's in the league and needs to now "Bulk Up".

I think Daniels will be waived or moved to keep Reed and Shaq

Dudley or Chandler - also could be bought out

Don't want to burst bubbles , but people who think a COACH is going to make a player a better shooter is delusional , all of these players have been getting coached by competent coaches for many years now. The value is in the scheme and system (fit) a coach brings very little fundamental improvements.

It is very rare at this stage in a players career "unless that player works his butt off on his own" that a player BECOMES a good shooter. Just like it's rare for a QB to become "more accurate"

Sorry, that's just not true. Maybe a head coach isn't going to be working with his players on this, but almost every staff employs a shooting coach for this very reason, to correct people's shot mechanics, help them speed up their release, etc., yes it requires a player to work hard, but to say that coaching can't improve shooting is one of the dumbest things I've heard on this board.

Also, scheme and system can also improve shooting % by putting players in positions to take shots they are comfortable with and in good rhythm.

Sounds like you're the one who is delusional.

So the university of Kansas does not have a good shooting coach?

Or anyone on Watson’s staff

Or anyone who coached his AAU TEAMS

All of those coaches couldn’t make him better

But NOW we have a magic shooting coach?

Like I said percentages will
Go up because we will get more open shots

At the professional level fundamentals is a small coaching point, it’s the player that needs to put in the work to improve, so yes can players improve YES, but the coach isn’t the magic wand, it’s the players work ethic to take a million reps to improve that part of their game. Not the coach , the coach helps a lot more in other aspects of the game

What I think is that he does not love to play basketball.
He is not a gamer. He reminds me of Len in that aspect.

Calling it now, Danuel House will be a rotation guy for the Rockets, ie 20-25mpg.

They're losing bodies and he can contribute, he showed it last year for us down the stretch. Good on him.

My guess is they want to bring back Sauce...but I have been really hoping they don't just waive Reed at that dirt cheap contract when he is a solid young guy with experience defending and hitting the 3...a guy we passed up other good players for and he makes nothing.

I know you've mentioned Tyson being bought out...I haven't heard anything about that...I imagine that is doubtful at this point. I think they should try and move Daniels (of the people I think may be movable).

Well it was documented that he helped Shaq up his FT% by like 50-60% or so and that he helped Rubio a lot with his shot last year where he shot a lot better.

But yes, it's mostly on the players. It should be easier if you can hit free throws, but some still have had problems despite that (eg Rubio).

Jackson had one offseason at Kansas. So I assume that they didn't have a ton of time to work on the Freshman's shot when they were trying to teach him their sets, adapt him to college level basketball, etc.

But also, did it ever occur to you that NBA coaches just might be better than collegiate or AAU coaches? Like, seriously, NBA teams PAY MILLIONS OF DOLLARS to employ shooting coaches. Why would they do that if it didn't make a difference? You're telling me that you know more about this than nearly every team in the league?

Wonder if its a trade like Dudley's expiring for a 2nd round pick or something. Only way you could free a roster spot unless you're making a 2 for 1 deal.

WHAT??

Does dude think he’s set for life with 8 mil (pre-taxes)?

You know if Gambo was wrong about this someone would call him out for being wrong. That’s a damning report on Chriss if true.
