Re: New GM search
Gotta love an organization that prioritizes keeping things cushy and familiar over getting the best man for the job.

Is there anyone more unlikeable than Harris? Like in the history of planet earth?
he hired hinkie and let the process happen. this alone deserves respect, cause many owners wouldnt allow intentional losing for 3-4 years. (or maybe even longer, if we didnt net embiid and/or simmons)
there are many guys who are more unlikeable than harris. adam silver, the colangelos, scott o'neill just to name a few

Re: New GM search
Pompey said the Sixers are interested in RC Buford, but it will be tough to pry him away from the Spurs.
Also mentions how it’ll be tough to convince a GM to come here basically demanding they can’t pick their own staff and may not have full control or final say on the roster.
Boy, the Sixers are sure finding a way to screw up what should be the most desirable position in the sport.

Re: New GM search
So Popovic is retiring from coaching and going back upstairs to takeover the Spurs GM position.
Buford would be a crazy snag lol.

They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Yeah really. How are we targeting the same guy we are negotiating a major trade with?? That seems like something an investigation would need to happen after the fact. Conflict of interest? Hey, trade us Kawhi for a crap package and then come be our GM!Sixersftw wrote:JojoSlimbiid wrote:

Yeah, this could be tricky. The whole league would hate on us and noone would do any deals with RC in the future as Sixers GM.
Another thing, how far actually is Kawhi's feud with SAS is reaching? I mean, they're saying it wasn't only a feud over Parker's comments. They're saying he still has respect for Pop. So where's the issue than? With GM and front office? If so, why would Kawhi sign an extension with Sixers if he is not on good terms with SAS FO (Buford?).
