I was just about to say the same thing. We should trade his bum.

Part of me hopes we're out of SL. I feel same way I did about Lauri last year. WCJ has nothing else to prove. Now he needs to adjust to his real teammates and real players. 1st hurdle cleared.

Yes Mamba might very well be top notch player as he has those freakish measurements while having a very high IQ, just like WCJ except WCJ dont have those measurements and WCJ is quite polished in the offensive zone as 19 year old.

Not so sure about that WCJ is a better handler than Lauri yet but both play IQ steady game while WCJ has little sampling of him.

Bamba doesn't seem to me to have a high basketball IQ, he's just so raw. He's such a good shot blocker, but finds himself out of position on switches often and struggles with physicality. His whole potential evolves around developing as a player both physically and stylistically. Ayton absolutely destroyed him last night, Bamba was always going to be a prospect that is going to take a few years to tap into his talent. Also, he seems completely lost on offense thus far.

I'm of the mind that Bamba figures it out and becomes an all star, but WCJ seems suited to contribute immediately. Maybe its just anecdotal evidenceor eye test, but WCJ seems like an NBA ready rookie like Elton was in 2000

I don't know how we don't start WCJ in game 1 of the regular season, he haven't had a competent rim protector since Joakim, unless the plan is to tank.

Bamba has most definitely a high BBIQ which is well documented. Its just that he is still so raw with his body. IQ and measurements are alrdy there but what will develop out of them is still a question.

High IQ is different than high BBall IQ. Bamba is clearly a sharp individual, but it’s another thing if he’s able to read and react correctly on offense and defense at NBA speed.

WCJ seems to have both. Most stars (that are capable of winning a championship) also have both.

What toning? Where is this narrative coming from, give a link where is said that he has lost weight as i havent seen anywhere said so except in this board by some.

He looks exactly like he did in college.

I think he made some comment about the freshman 15 or something. I don't think it was a massive change though.

Yes, I read where he talked about toning out and playing a little lighter.

That and working on footwork can make a big difference.

Did you even tried?

Eh... I skimmed briefly. But draftexpress was dated before his Texas season so it's kind of discounted because he was dominate in high School. And the sapien I saw off the court again although I may have missed it.

I'm a full believer in Carter now. Just imagine him and Lauri 3 years from now.

That block Panther had on Young was impressive. He showcased he can keep up with and recover quickly from faster guards having a step on him.

This could be the new generation of great bigs in the NBA. That bodes well for our young core.

The Bulls really have a problem with selecting 2 ways players, it's pathetic that we lost Jimmy Butler and tanked a whole year for Wendell Carter Jr... I mean my God. At least select Bridges, he has the same floor and a much higher ceiling.

I've already stated in a summer league thread that WCJ looks far better on defense than I expected but you might want to wait until the regular season before you try to call out people's posts in this thread...

P.S.

Most people were worried about his defense on the perimeter against NBA guards, not his defense in the paint, which was already projected to be good and what we've mostly seen in summer league so far...

When time tells I'll wonder if people will remember that it coincided with Paxson officially becoming more involved in the org. It's like all of a sudden when Gar has less power there's less nepotism and the picks outperform their draft ranking... :o

I liked it when I saw it and laughed. I'm rolling with it.

Then again I like coloring books.
