Tony was good in his 2nd year in the summer league. That was Doug McDermott who had a good summer league after being drafted.

I am not sure how old the quotes are but, I am not really convinced it's good form to quote other users from long past and rub their opinions in their faces. Especially draft nights are quite emotional.

We seriously need to find a veteran point guard this offseason.
I just am not confident with the core group that they can and will consistently find our bigs. It could be an ongoing story if we struggle again on offense.

a single game +- in summer league is not any argument against adjusted plus minus over a large sample.

Based off Laurel & Hardy for you young whippersnappers
Don't want to derail the discussion into an advanced stats discussion. We've had plenty of those. I will just say that imho RAPM works pretty good for identifying who the superstars in the league are. Once you get past them I don't put much stock in it. I get that it adjusts for who you're playing with, who you're playing against, etcetera and does so over a long time frame. There are still way too many variables so that I don't think it's going to help you differentiate between average NBA players.Red Larrivee wrote:Stratmaster wrote:Garbage in... garbage out.madvillian wrote:

+/- doesn't account for who you play with, opponents, and other things. Basically, if some scrub plays the majority of his minutes with LeBron James and James Harden, his +/- will be inflated. Or if a great player always plays with trash, his +/- will be misleading.
RPM still needs context like every other stat. You wouldn't be overly concerned that a rookie has a disappointing RPM, because he's a rookie and a larger sample will give you a better idea. For instance, Giannis' rookie season RPM is -1.14, which really isn't bad considering he was a project coming in. Or if a player is simply being used incorrectly, then that would give you a clue in addition to a tape study.
But overall it's probably the best one in terms of individual value relative to wins and losses.

For all the criticism Dunn gets (rightfully so) his vision/court awareness has shown a lot of promise and he has a knack for finding open shooters. WCJ is not only an ideal fit with Lauri, but also with Dunn.
This Bulls team has potential to be one of the best passing groups in the league. Dunn, Valentine, WCJ, Hutch, and even Lavine are all above average passers and our entire team is very unselfish. If Fred can get Zach to really buy into the system our offense could truly become a thing of beauty. Again though, this will be highly contingent on Dunn's development.
Ok fair enough but as shooting guards go he is at least average. And if he buys into a system I could see him averaging 4apg, which is good for a SG.Ctownbulls wrote:The Force. wrote:WCJ should really open things up for Dunn with his rim rolling, pick and pops, and floor spacing. Lavine? Above average passer? I think those need to be separated from any sentence unless you include "not".

Then one should refrain himself unless one is ready to be behind what he thinks and says and not just throwing things around, dont you think?
