Are you assuming Smart will be similarly injured every season?
How does him being injured in FEB impact him in the playoffs?
Who is he going to move past on that list of 7 players in front of him?
Irving
Hayward
Horford
Tatum
Brown
Rozier
Baynes
He isn't unless he gets better offensively. Then you factor in Theis who was better than him in the regular season in the end Marcus Smart is you 9th best player and I don't know how that changes.
couple things
1. idk how yer defining 'impact' but i say a good way to 'impact' a game is to be on the floor. Smart was in the top 5 for MPG in playoffs. And it was around the same MPG he was getting in regular season when Kyrie was playing anyway.
2. Baynes is not 'better' or 'more impactful' than Smart. I mean, just look at the $s in the contract. Look at the MPG. Look at how the game is changing - you can't play a big without a 3 in the NBA Finals for more than 20 mpg. I'm not even gonna respond to the Marcus Morris stuff cos that's not a real thing.
