Like I said, debate the facts. It's obvious you are not the brightest guy around so I'll just leave things here. No sense arguing with somebody like you. and btw, Hoyce Gracie is about the same size I am and he's a UFC HOFer, so I would be careful about judging what you can do to somebody because of their size. You ever fight a good wrestler? I've seen a LOT of big tough guys try it and it didn't end well for them.

oh, and, Remedial English. Look into it.

Yes comparing trained mma fighters to regular joes is ideal. I wasn't trying to attack you or anything I just feel it's weird for regular people to be critiquing a pro athletes training regimen.

The lavine critcism is getting personal. Too many people sh*tting on everything about him

Lavine plays soft and lacks will. I could careless about his training. Get the big rebound and make the smart play.

Not personal against you. See that's the difference you're insulting posters. We make jokes about players on this forum we draw on coaches faces we do things like that. It's not personal against any posters. You're the one taking criticism against a basketball player personally.

Again, all we can do is hope for the best. Zach still seems like a more athletic Kevin Martin type player to me. A Maggette...a Mercer. JR Smith with a better shot and attitude (or IQ).
Probably better suited as a 6th man...but all we can do is make the best of the situation and hope he is one of the few players like this who "gets it".

Maybe we should make more comparison to Klay Thompson? How is his defense when you look at the metrics vs the eye test?

Maggette actually guarded and drew fouls. He just could shot pass 10 feet and thought passing was not an option. He actually made his team better while on the court in his prime.

pointing out how it's strange non athletes questioning a pro athletes training techniques isnt attacking anyone at all. It's a valid question

who is anyone on this forum to question how lavine trains and what techniques he uses? That's ridiculous, before he tore his acl he played in 206 of a possible 211 nba games. Not one person on real gm can play 12 mins in the g league so they shouldn't be critiquing zach lavines training habits. It's personal

What? It's the Chicago Bulls RealGM internet forum. Everybody on here critiques players all the time. None of us can play in the NBA. What are you talking about?

Tell Zach to play tougher and pass the damn ball when he is triple teamed at the 3 point line. He would get less criticism. No one expects perfection but he has the ability to effect the game with defense. Actually fight for a couple of lose balls. Instead of always looking to leak out.

As for the rest of the board,
Let's get back to discussing the topic and leave the insults out of the conversation. If someone insults you or the board in general, just report it.
No need to respond to them. Let the mods handle it please. Thank you.

So Zach DID get more than Aaron Gordon or not?
I think he did - 80 vs 76.....

>>Gordon’s new deal originally was reported as being worth a total of $84 million, not the $76 million in base salary.
Team officials would not disclose figures and would not comment for this story.

>>The Bulls on Sunday formally matched the four-year, $80 million offer sheet LaVine signed with the Sacramento Kings, a move that was expected almost from the instant the restricted free agent got the offer.

and he signed this Monday or yesterday and no fanfare or pics?
I mean they posted pics of everyone else inking stuff......
This is our prize FA - make with the pics Bulls!

If he got more than AG, that is an egregious error . Heinous. Criminal. Aaron Gordon is so much better than Lavine.

BTW, I just went to my cardiologist and I weighed in at 170.4.. Still frail, I guess. But, watch out, I have plenty of "old man strength". 8-)

Totally this. Having a good work ethic in nice don't get me wrong. But it only helps a little if you don't play smart or improve on weaknesses. Ben Gordon was a gym rat too. That never made him a better passer, rebounder, or defender. Kirk Hinrich was also a hard worker. But his game never took much of a jump from his rookie season

Lavine works hard, but he needs to start working smart too. As you just said, his gym habits don't mean much if he isnt grabbing tough rebounds , making smart decisions with the ball, have much better defensive awareness, etc

No. You have no cred. It is personal only to Zach Lavine, NOT to you. Who the F are you anyway? His mom? His brother? You started attacking people posting about a freaking player. NOT YOU. A bunch of "flabby old dudes". And it wasn't your first personal attack against a group of posters.

Like I said, this is a Bulls fan forum. We make fun of players here. We poke fun at coaches here. We hurl personal insults at them, even. We draw on their faces and make funny jokes. It's what we do here. We DON'T personally attack each other or a group of posters who may have a differing opinion.

Do you understand this? Criticizing a player or coach on the team, or even another team.. even personally, is NOT against the TOS here. Attacking another poster or a group of posters or calling them out IS against the TOS here. There is vast difference between the two.

So, when somebody criticizes a player you might like, DON'T TAKE IT PERSONAL and start hurling insults at that poster or group of posters.

That is the difference. Some people here were critical of Zach Lavine. With very good reasons for it. Some people made fun of his workout clip. Not me. So the F what? Why do you take that personally? Don't and we'll be fine here. I'll say whatever the F I want about any player in the NBA. If you don't like it. Too bad. If you want to debate what I say based on stats, or merit, or other facts, GREAT. I'll be happy to engage in that. But, don't start with your crap calling out groups of posters "flabby old dudes", or anything else personal. It might get you banned.

Now, if YOU are Zach Lavine, then just say so, and I'll try and be more respectful since you would be one of us.

That would be hilarious if he was LaVine or even someone that knows him IRL. I'm sure those guys lurk on here.

i find the suggestion that a bulls fan should not be critical of the team's players or FO decisions to be hilarious. that's EXACTLY what a fan who wants the best for his team and entertainment dollar should be doing

The vitriol for Lavine is comical.

He's not bad, but he might not be all that useful to a good team. We'll see.

I think a lot of people here don't realize or remember how extremely raw Zach was coming out of HS and even at UCLA. It's the main reason why, despite his Milky Way Galaxy-class athleticism and smooth shot, he was "only" a four-star recruit, ranked 44th and 50th nationally on Rivals and ESPN, respectively, wasn't even the top UCLA recruit that year, started only one game for the Bruins, and was only the 14th pick in the draft. I mean, we're talking about DeAndre Jordan levels of rawness coming out of college.

Being a gym rat has brought him this far. It's the reason why many Wolves fans still prefer him over Wiggins, and look at the contract extension Thibs gave to that guy.

If you want an example of similarly raw player with super athleticism, a sweet shooting stroke, and seemingly limitless potential who has yet to pan out or even show glimpses of that potential, look at Ben McLemore. Zach is so much further along than that guy.

I hope the people that were mad the Bulls didn't draft Porter Jr. aren't the same people who were mad about the Bulls matching the offer sheet. Guys like Zach don't come along very often and definitely not for the Bulls. Zach's not great right now, but his potential for greatness is quite apparent, and the strides he's made so far since being that raw prospect out of UCLA makes him worthy of keeping around.
