True, though they may have received same info.

Regardkng Schulz, im assuming MEM is offering JaMychal Green and BKN is offering Lin. Pass on both, IMO.

Brooklyn has cap space, so it could also be for a large trade exception.

Cs have no use for a trade exception, esp since it can't be combined with salary/other exceptions if we're trading for/signing a star.

Trade exceptions are expiring left and right nowadays.

Just my two cents of speculation.

Cant see Thibs not asking for one of our starting wings.

No way we get Jimmy Butler for Smart... Minn just traded for him to get into contention status.. i think they have to hold onto Butler and if they start off horrible then consider to move him at the deadline.. If Im Minn I'm harassing Atlanta to see what they would want to take wiggins off their hands.. or Sac would be dumb enough to do it lol

Won't happen, Stevens doesn't like him.

I hope you enjoy roller coasters. Cause you're in for a ride.

Collectively, we have absolutely no idea how to value Marcus.

lol, somewhere between a bag of chips and 3 unprotected first rounders is the consensus.

We'd love to get [Smart at 8-9mil / year] I'm sure, but [Smart at 11-12mil / year] is better than [not Smart], both because he contributes at least in the vicinity of that pay grade, and because it gives us a very useful salary for matching for the next couple of years.

I always say, "make decisions down the roster, not up". I don't want to have to give Yabusele away for nothing while there's still the slightest possibility of finding a way to not take a zero on that asset, but, I'd rather take a zero on Yabs than on Smart.

Respectually disagree. As much for him chucking 14 bad shots a game and forcing bad passes as for the salary. I'm going to leave it at this (nothing against or your stance but I'm sure the board doesn't want me to keep repeating myself).

WTF is it with Smart's detractors and hyperbole? He took 9.5 total shots a game, and not all of them were bad. Are you just making **** up because you don't feel like looking it up or are you just trying to weight your argument? I don't get it.

I haven’t looked it up and maybe am overstating because he bricks at the most inopportune times but was that 9.5 attempts in the playoffs/and or after Kyrie went down? Even if not why I is the worst shooter on the team (very possibly the league) taking 9.5?

Id just like to make clear I’m not a hater if he’s a specialist vs rotation guy. Which colors my view on his value. If they sign him for the QO you’ll find a new Smart fan in me.

J Green and some protections altered in Cs favor on Memphis pick....? Would need a follow up move trading Morris IMO

+1— figured something like this must be true given how we completely stopped pursuing him last offseason.

When the Marcus Smart free agency started, the Carter Administration was in power, Kermit Washington was a Boston Celtic, and Roger Moore was the new James Bond.

If Smart wants Memphis, good, go.

He will be the 4th point guard, behind big-money Conley, big Simmons, talented Jevon.

He is going to be Tony Allen, bricklayer who leaves Boston for obscurity, but forgot to wait to get a ring before leaving.

A team can only have one Brooks. If Memphis wants to send one to Boston, preferably Dillon, swell.

Silly Marcus, when your only options are Memphis, Brooklyn and Sacramento you have reached the bottom of the barrel.

Silly Marcus Smart's agent, he is telling Marcus to keep playing musical chairs but the song (money teams had to spend) stopped playing a week ago.

I gave my contact that shared the Smart news with me last week, a hard time today lol.
Clearly there is no ironing out of the contract details right now.

S/T Smart for Brooks or Selden and I'm game.

Kyrie-Brown-Hayward-Tatum-Horford
Rozier-Selden-Morris-Theis-Baynes
Wanamaker-Bird-Semi-Yabu-Williams

Boom. Done. Call it an off season. Team is stacked and very deep

Caveat to this Smart negotiation is that Boston really likes both Wanamaker and Bird. Those 2 guys along with Semi are ready for rotation minutes. It's going to be some great competition between those guys fighting for rotation minutes. Add in Selden or Brooks too. Damn. Brad has a luxury of hard nosed, versatile players to work with

Too lazy to check if anyone posted this but this is a pretty glaring example of how valuable he is to the team and his teammates when he is on the floor. Speaks volumes about his importance.

Silly agent yes but i dont think there was ever musical chairs. If there was that kind of demand he would’ve jumped by now.

There's nothing Memphis or BKN has that I want for smart other than like, a future unprotected first that they won't give up anyway. He's an important piece for a team with championship aspirations.

This is annoying now. These other teams aren't going to put up the cash to sign smart away. Cut the BS. He's going to play next year on the QO and the celtics will patch things up with him during the season.
