Regardkng Schulz, im assuming MEM is offering JaMychal Green and BKN is offering Lin. Pass on both, IMO.

Brooklyn has cap space, so it could also be for a large trade exception.

Cs have no use for a trade exception, esp since it can't be combined with salary/other exceptions if we're trading for/signing a star.

Trade exceptions are expiring left and right nowadays.

I would say keep an eye on Jimmy Butler and Minnesota as a target for a Smart S&T. KAT and Butler are not getting along and Thibs loves players like Marcus Smart. Smart and Morris is a good start.

Just my two cents of speculation.

Cant see Thibs not asking for one of our starting wings.

Minn just traded for him to get into contention status.. i think they have to hold onto Butler and if they start off horrible then consider to move him at the deadline.. Yes we would. I think folks are sometimes forgetting to take into account just how mid-range-contract-sparse our payroll is. We'd love to get [Smart at 8-9mil / year] I'm sure, but [Smart at 11-12mil / year] is better than [not Smart], both because he contributes at least in the vicinity of that pay grade, and because it gives us a very useful salary for matching for the next couple of years.

I always say, "make decisions down the roster, not up". I don't want to have to give Yabusele away for nothing while there's still the slightest possibility of finding a way to not take a zero on that asset, but, I'd rather take a zero on Yabs than on Smart.

WTF is it with Smart's detractors and hyperbole? He took 9.5 total shots a game, and not all of them were bad. Are you just making **** up because you don't feel like looking it up or are you just trying to weight your argument? I don't get it.

I haven’t looked it up and maybe am overstating because he bricks at the most inopportune times but was that 9.5 attempts in the playoffs/and or after Kyrie went down? Even if not why I is the worst shooter on the team (very possibly the league) taking 9.5?

Id just like to make clear I’m not a hater if he’s a specialist vs rotation guy. Which colors my view on his value. If they sign him for the QO you’ll find a new Smart fan in me.

A team can only have one Brooks. If Memphis wants to send one to Boston, preferably Dillon, swell.

There's nothing Memphis or BKN has that I want for smart other than like, a future unprotected first that they won't give up anyway. He's an important piece for a team with championship aspirations.

This is annoying now. These other teams aren't going to put up the cash to sign smart away. Cut the BS. He's going to play next year on the QO and the celtics will patch things up with him during the season.
