It would be even nicer if he’d said: “Oh cool! I've actually talked to him before, while he was dropping 20 consecutive threes, just before a monster tomahawk. He’s a really cool dude." But I still have my hopes up for friday.

i don't dislike graham for the record. he's far better than marcus paige

i just think that people's memories are short when it comes to backup pg's here during the clifford years. mcw was on his way towards putting up one of the worst seasons -of all time-. before that, sessions was bad. then we brought him back again when he was worse lol.

the bar is really, really low for acceptable pg play.

to add on, clifford's love for playing rookies in roles they're not comfortable with - and subsequently blaming them for inconsistent performance - can't be glossed over while taking things into consideration. how long did it take him to realize cody wasn't a stretch 4? why didn't he let biyombo share a SINGLE minute with al? why play frank at the 5 on defense *on purpose*? etc

playing guys to their strengths is important and we generally don't do that as the first option.

Why exactly? He's not some project pick.

The guy is a 4 year player at Kansas that increased his assist rate each year

2.1 -> 3.7 -> 4.1 -> 7.2

Monk's primary problem last season was taking too many shots and not passing enough. I see this guy as a pick that says we f'ed up and going to insert him into the slot and make us better.

It's not necessarily due to him. I just don't see JB giving him any run for a while

If it helps he did say he was really athletic. Said he was basically under the radar in terms of recruiting and was going to go to App. St. but they fired coach Capel and he blew up at some event and Kansas swooped in and got him.

What were his official measurements at the combine? I have watched him play hes a fine player. Just wondering on his size in comparison to Kemba.

He's 6'2 in shoes with a 6'6 wingspan.

Good news for us. Gives us time to let him get past Parker in rotation, if he can, and then make a decision on his next contract.

That makes the Parker signing a little more understandable. Locking Graham up for 3 years is huge and will be some of the great years of his career age 23-26
The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

Ugh, out of nowhere Devonte Graham is done for the summer league and out “indefinitely” with some injury I’ve never heard of to his knee: https://www.nba.com/hornets/press-releases/charlotte-hornets-injury-update-7/12/18

Anyone know how minor or serious this could be? Does it jeopardize his season at all?

Starting to seriously think this team may be cursed.

I also don’t really trust anything medical that comes from the Hornets. The medical staff rivals the cap management team for most clueless department in the organization

Unlikely that it's our medical team though, right?

Worth asking though whether this is the same crew that diagnosed Monk's "broken" thumb.

guys get 'injured' in summer league all the time

i'd really not trip over it. teams pull their players after playing well every year.

Getting injured in summer league must be the worse. I think a lot of players fake ankle injuries etc.. to avoid summer league
UPDATED 7-5-2025

These are who I want with our picks in order

Fears
Raynaud
Kam Jones
Taelon Peter - or Will Richard
Chase Hunter - summer league invite
