Come season time it's reasonable to expect teams won't be giving Ayton that much attention in the post seeing as we will be rolling out shooters like Booker, Ariza and Bridges. It's probably better they stay on the perimeter in that case. However, I can see them collapsing on Ayton if guys like Warren and Jackson are on the field.

So Ayton will have to be ready to take advantage of the spacing those guys give him and he hasn't exactly had issues scoring in summer league despite all the defensive attention he's received, so it bodes well for us.

If he's not a negative defensively in his rookie season, that's already a win in my books

“I’m trying to be Rookie of the Year and the first rookie [since Blake Griffin] to be an All-Star,” Ayton told Yahoo Sports this week. “Just putting that pressure on me so I can go hard everyday. I won’t necessarily say it’s pressure. I’ll just say it’s one of my goals or one of the achievements I hope to accomplish. It’s no pressure at all, it’s just, you’ve got to be in the gym, you’ve got to work, because if you don’t, it’s going to be exposed.”

It'll be a lot easier for him if he played with a great PG who can set him up.

I know Ayton put up respectable numbers in Summer League, but I was a bit concerned by how slow and out of shape he looked.

At Arizona, he had the quickness of young STAT, but he looked more like Greg Oden (During the few times he played) in Summer League in terms of his movement.

He needs to lose weight before the start of the season.

Especially in today's NBA where you need to be able to get up and down the court quickly.

Ayton was a ton of fun to watch at Arizona due to his unique athleticism and dominance, but I still think Doncic was the safer pick.

Much higher basketball IQ and filled a big need for a play-maker. And he will age gracefully thanks to his non-reliance on athleticism and amazing feel for the game.

Ayton relies a lot on his athletic ability and lacks a good feel for the game. I have some concerns about him, as you can tell.

Because he's the hero Phoenix deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A dark knight.

In Ayton’s case....

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain

I feel like that quote directly ties into what Durant has done in his career.

There's a narrative that has been brought up in some podcast about Durant leaving the Warriors after next season to sign with NY and to build a team like what Lebron did with Miami. If he can bring them back into relevance and even a title, I think it would be a massively positive comeback story

^I honestly hope he does. I hope Klay goes with him, or goes elsewhere. I just want to see a more competitive and balanced league. I remember a saying from Jim Rohn where he said "Is it possible to win if you couldn't lose." I feel that way about the current Warriors, how does it feel to win, when it's almost impossible for that squad to lose.

I think it applies to Kawhi Leonard as well. I mean this was just few years ago

I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people with how productive he will be his rookie season itself.

I actually found it on Google this morning when trying to search something about Kawhi Leonard.

I got a good chuckle out of reading that thread, just the first page alone is hilarious.

The downside is knicks fans having an actual great team. They hype awful teams to shocking extremes, KD and klay on their team might break this website.
