that there what we call mutual benefit. he gave us time to lock up key contracts before giving him his. and he gave himself some early financial security. i love it.

If only we had a veteran center with great defensive understanding to teach him some of the nuances of the game...

Well, Noah could fill that role if he gets his head right for the season.

I don't think you know what the word "flourishing" means..... Willy has made just 9 three pointers in two seasons in the NBA......

Willy a third year player is what like 24 playing against 19 years olds in summer league? By the time Robinson is in his 3rd season in the NBA you'll be saying Willy who?

i don't think willy is trash. i think he's unfortunately not going to be anywhere near as useful as mitchell robinson stands to be.

unless a team is looking for another marc gasol prototype, there's a clear ceiling for willy. mitchell has high potential in the direction bigs are actually going.

I didn't say and don't think that Willy is trash, but I don't think that he has the skill set that I want to see from a center in the modern NBA. Sure, he's expanding his range to 3 which will help keep spacing and he does get the occasional block but I want players that do both of those at a high level, not barely if at all.

Mitchell may not have the post game Willy does but he surely will be able to rebound at a similar rate. On the other hand his shot blocking ability is game changing, he moves well in space to defend and he does have range on his jumper even though he hasn't taken a single shot outside of the paint yet in SL.

Mitchell is the future of the big man in the NBA, Willy is the past, which he is good at but it is still a dying skill set so I agree with you.

I was watching Willy with the Charlotte summer league team. I think he wants to help but his stiff limbs hamper his defensive play.

It will be easier for Mitchell to develop a 3-point shot than for Willy to develop the defensive instincts that Michell has. Willy will be out of the league soon because he doesn't give effort. Even with the clear talent he has, his effort level makes him a bum.

I think Noah could be really good for Mitchell. I'd like to start the season with him in uniform.

In his senior year in HS Mitch took more than 150 3 point attempts converting 38% of them so he's not that far off already.

he is really out-of-place on defense. he'd be better able to defend bigs who played the same back-to-the-basket game he does. but these nimbler bigs are a problem. and he's hopeless on switches and perimeter play. just free candy. kanter has similar limitations, but is a little lighter on his feet. probably better defensive potential, honestly.

I already have my #26 Giants jersey. I might need to add a #26 Knicks jersey...
