I bet both England and Belgium do. Especially Belgium as it would be their best ever result in World Cup.

They need to get rid of the third place match. It must be so demoralising for both teams having to come out there.

Belgium 5-0

Not kidding

So much for England's strategy for going to the weak side of the table

We'll take it.
Especially after the whole 'losing on purpose' thing.

It worked, they would've gone out to brazil in quarters instead of semis.

Think they would have had a much more satisfying feeling than, then they have now.
They went the easy road and they failed against a not so good team.

That not so good team needed penalties against Denmark and Russia to qualify!

That's what I'm talking about.

Russia was a fluke and Denmark was the best team Croatia faced in all tourney, no wonder they struggled. Denmark did not lose in regular time vs both finalists BTW.

No one cares about this game. Maybe to underdogs like South Korea in 2002 this game meant something.
But of course, if you have to play ths stupid game, and if you have to postpone your summer holidays for another 3 days for this, then you want to win it.

Well, it would be our best result ever, so they probably will care.

remembering 1998 experience of Croatia, i know it now feels like worthless game but 3# place means you go home as a winner and nobody can take medal from you, ever. It's an incredible achivment, ask Brazil or Netherlands how they feel about brozne from 2014 and would they take that again, oppsoite of not even going to tournament , or going home in quater finals.

It's also battle of who broke down after semi finals less.
I think Belgium has edge because they were kind a euthanized by France where England had early lead and everything went downhill in second half so emotions are still running wild.

I can't see it meaning much to us. I expect the "starting 11" to all be dropped and others to get a game. Front 3 will probably be Vardy, Rashford and wellbeck.

That Uruguay v Germany third place match was a great one in 2010. Honestly, the only one I can remember off the top of my head. Hoping that this one turns into a goal fest between Kane and Lukakau for the scoring title

Croatia has a better team on paper than England.

But they also played 2 OT (with penalties), against Denmark and Russia. Not really convincing.
