Why waive him? I honestly think IW can be a good backup. I feel bad about losing IW. he was just watching our guys at SL.
I like the picks though.

Amazing deal. Two lotto picks next summer is a very real possibility at this point.

I think they might have too many players on the roster. Also little chance that they'd really need IW as a backup since they just signed Isaiah Thomas.

Marks is insane. Basically going into his first real year now that they have their own pick, plus adding another pick very likely to be top 20. Entire team still under 26 (other than the cap dumps they just took on and DMC. This guy is unbelievable.
DLo / Dinwiddie / Doyle
Crabbe / Levert
DMC / Harris / Musa
RHJ / Faried / Arthur / Kurocs
Allen / Davis
2 firsts next year
Cap room for 2 maxes
2 tradable RFA's

Re: Nets Trade Whitehead To Denver For Faried, Arthur, 2019 First (Top 12 Protected), Future Second
The Nets were able to absorb the Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur contract because of the $1.5M free agent cap hold of Joe Harris. The trade would not have worked had Brooklyn signed signed Harris to his $8M cap hit once the moratorium was lifted. Brooklyn still has $2.6M in cap space available with 14 players under contract. The Nets can exceed the cap to sign Harris because of the early bird exception. The $4.4M room midlevel exception is reserved for Ed Davis.
Shoutout to Joe Harris for not being a greedy mofo. He trust the Sean

Denver will still be over the cap by quite a bit, seems like this was just an effort to escape the luxury tax. Shipping off (fairly nice) assets to save the rich-ass owner some money would be simply infuriating to me as a fan - glad we're not to that point in our team-building yet.

Marks is a **** savage.
High odds he just snaked himself a #13/14 pick. West is a **** brutal bloodbath, where healthy MEM will reassert itself and LAC has a darkhorse chance to surprise.
I wish... Lin never got hurt and coulda been part of something special that Marks will create. Marks has basically solidified in my mind to being a top 5 GM, already.
I'm so sad now

Faried sucks now and Arthur is ALWAYS hurt... they had to get rid of these guys to get under the luxury tax. They spent the money on Jokic/Barton/Harris/Plumlee and they have to lock up Murray shortly... that mid to late first round pick was basically the cost for their stupid Plumlee deal..
Good move for Brooklyn to use the space to facilitate a trade instead of signing a has been FA

Both Faried and Arthur aren't completely useless players either. Arthur was basically constantly hurt. IF either of them can recoup any value by the trade deadline, marks can in theory get more **** for them. If Faried work harder, he could be a modern switch 5 and Arthur the token 3/d type.

Denver was doing such a nice job slowly building a quality team and they totally threw a wrench in it all with that Plumlee deal. Just a horrible, horrible contract.

Nets Trade Whitehead To Denver For Faried, Arthur, 2019 First (Top 12 Protected), Future Second
This officially caps our summer aside from a few minor add ons (re-up Donte?)
RHJ, Faried, Arthur, Davis, Allen is an amazing turnaround from Okafor/Mozgov/Zeller.

Would be so badass for us to rehabilitate Arthur's value and flip him for an asset at the deadline.
