I still don't think he can be your star type combo-F cause I don't want him making advanced decisions or gobbling up too much usage, but if he can be something between Rudy Gay and Tobias Harris, that's a good starter at a hard hard position to find those, so it's obviously a win

You thought he was slow

well because he is, in halfcourt situations and with the ball, he has no real horizontal explosion to get-by guys, or at least he didn't at UK

on the open floor is different, but if you want him to be a top tier type of Forward, he needs to have that ability to actually attack

As did I and I stand by that - he's not a quick twitch guy like a Miles for example and I think this will become apparent in the NBA. There are other guys in this class who are the same, at the moment they have on a Clippers game and Shai is similar - both eat up ground quickly because they are long striders, but they aren't explosive.

Possibly not your most insightful and detailed post on here, but I take it roughly your point is Knox looks beastly, and you're right. He looks excellent in Summer League.

In terms of Knicks rookies I'm actually going to be more right on Mitchell Robinson than Knox: I had Robinson pegged as the best defensive big in the draft, or at least tied with Jaren Jackson in that respect. Robinson may well not live up to that billing but he's had an extremely promising start in that respect from all reports. I had him as a lottery level talent and above Knox predraft.

He has shown flashes. Some aspects of his game looked better than I expected and makes me think of him a bit more highly. But let's not forget that Knox had a complete green light in SL and got his points shooting 35% from the field. Let's pump the brakes a bit I'd say.

Mitchell has been a beast, that I agree with. We'll have to see how he deals with the daily life of an NBA player and, as with all Rookies, how he holds up against the big boys. But let me just say this: purely in terms of on-court talent, I don't see why Bamba should be considered a much better prospect – if better at all – than Robinson.

Both Knox and Robinson are works in progress. Knox needs to work on his food work big time. He also tends to drift on his jumper, instead of staying square to the basket.

Robinson is so raw on both on both ends of the court. He need minutes, so expect a lot of time in the D league for him. Knicks player development coaches better be good? On he brighr side both players are very talented and have a ton of potential.

Agreed on both your points. I had Robinson ahead of Bamba predraft, though I see Mike Gribanov had him as high as well according to his twitter in recent days. Gribanov had him pegged as potentially the best big in the draft apparently. He just looked like a much better defender than Bamba who isn't as intuitive - guys who "get" defense like Embiid, Draymond etc stick out and Robinson certainly did in his high school tape. Getting a talent like that in the second round is extraordinary, fyi, there's actually nothing wrong with him in terms of off-court stuff, he's just very shy, and he's certainly a competitor on the court.

I agree, I had Robinson #10 overall after the college season. I even compared him to Porzingis.

I really like what we saw from Knox, he was great in the first two games with Frank there to get him going. But I also liked seeing him struggle without a PG in these last two and have to adapt.

His handle still needs some work for him to be able to run the offense & reliably create when his shot isn’t falling, but I liked seeing him keep trying to attack the rim to get himself going...and the oop he threw Mitch off the drive was just a thing of beauty. If he starts taking one more step before going up, and that handle tightens up, he’ll be a machine on the drive.

The shot will come with time, his form is pretty and he puts a wonderful high arc on his long shots to make them harder to contest...see the way he went off on LA...and many of his shots just rimmed out in Vegas.

With the mindset & work rate he seems to have, plus the opportunities he’ll get with the Knicks, we could have a bouncier Granger on our hands in a couple of seasons...with the potential for even more.

It’s so refreshing to have a knicks team not throwing stupid multi year deals at dudes in FA, while having some genuine young talents to watch develop.

I like the Danny granger comps, I'm kind of blanking on his athleticism, more sneaky athletic or explosive? I was thinking a shorter Rashard Lewis before he took off as a great shooter.
