There’s a difference between a guard like Selby hunting shots in summer league and Wendell Carter showing an ability to guard in space, making the right decision on whether to roll or pop, block without fouling, setting good screens, rebounding in traffic. One guy is showing things that translate to the next level and one guy just tried getting buckets.

Ok. Draymond Green looked like poop in Summer league and he’s an all star now. Summer League has about a 1% correlation with how good someone will be in the NBA.

Trying to develop 5 young players, all on the court at the same time, is difficult. Anarchy on the court is not a good thing. Rolo can help identify and communicate issues on the court and help direct traffic, assignments, etc.
Seems some are afraid Zach will ball-hog. If he really is inclined to do that, put him on the court with 4 players with less years of service than he has. Lopez can at least be a stabilizing and guiding voice on the court who Zach will have to listen to.
Bringing Rolo off the bench will not help his trade value.
RoLo has no trade value. He's overpaid. He also is not a good player.
He should probably be bought out. Same with Holiday, although we should really be able to trade Holiday.

I thought it was a given. If this team, who is in a rebuild and tanked last season away doesn't start the player they tanked for, what the hell are they thinking? No reason at all Lopez should be starting or playing more minutes than WCJ. None. No veteran entitlement starts or minutes.
The argument for starting Lopez is to play him with Markkanen and to help continue his development. He did a lot for Markkanen last season. It's a lot of WCJ to ask him to do all the little things Lopez did well for Markkanen and others, as well as producing for himself.
I would start Lopez for the first 20 or so games but ensure the rotation allows for Markkanen and WCJ to play together too.
