Especially if he gets traded for a vastly inferior player with the same amount of salary and who has a history of being a malcontent.

one less year. and i dunno about vastly inferior.
clearing melo comes with a high cost.

If the cost is that, you stretch him.

look how much flexibility we gain in capulator after that trade.
slick_watts wrote:i was playing around with something. this trade works if chicago gets 20m in cap space:
adams and felicio to miami
anthony to chicago
whiteside and macgruder to okc
clear's melo's salary almost entirely. at the cost of an adams / whiteside swap.
sort of goofy, but there's a lot of things you can play around with this structure.

i don't see the massive downgrade. can someone explain this to me? definitely a downgrade. but massive?

“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

It's not like you to champion an obvious loser like Whiteside, but on the other hand, it's on brand to drag one of our own guys through the mud. I'm sure you know all of what I just posted and are just semi-trolling, but I wanted to go to bat for Steve.

my argument would be more that this was a down year in a situation he wasn't happy with. like paul george in indiana.
whiteside is an interesting statistical outlier to me and always has been. sort of like kanter but he produces defensive #'s and drpm has always liked him. i think at his best he's reasonably close to steve, but adams is better.
don't be a stranger, oreo
