Belgium's counter attack with Hazard, Lukaku and De Bruyne is so lethal... and its funny how all 3 of these guys were on Chelsea...

Croatia played well but their goalkeeper Subasic was terrible. I'm not mad about France winning but they just scored some very cheap goals. Damn.

Was a good final. Yeah, one France goal was set up by that dive. It shouldn't have been called.
That said, the better team won today.

Pretty soon we'll be watching Hazard and Courtois on Real Madrid and saying the same thing. As a Chelsea fan, the board's inaction and refusal to spend money will be the club's downfall.. :nonono:

France with a good win. Croatia has nothing to be ashamed about. Hard-nosed football and constant comebacks through the knockout stage.

Modric being the named the best player in the tournament is well deserving.

Mbappe at 19 with a WC win and the best young player in the tournament. Neymar is gonna have to leave PSG to get out of his Mbappe's shadow.

Croatia was totally dominating France in the first half, but was deflated by some huge gaffes, the handball call was controversial. France ultimately came-on strong and deserved the win.

France was the best, most consistent team throughout the tournament. Brazil were also very good but for 20 minutes of Belgian brilliance.

Just result. Great tournament. Very few dud games. Great stadia. Open, skillful soccer.

Fascinating that the last four World Cup winners are contiguous nations in Western Europe. In 2002, everyone was predicting soccer’s globalization would undo European domination of the sport. Fascinating too that France- too often center of racist, anti-immigrant sentiment- had 15 players (out of 20 or so) of African heritage.
