Not as athletic as prime Kobe but very very athletic nonetheless

Actually prime kobe wasn’t anywhere near as athletic as fro Kobe. Fro Kobe was a freak athletically. Super underrated in that department.

No Kobe had handles, playmaking and drive that were quite different. Tatum is smaller Durant.

I'm keen to see who will be better out of Ingram and Tatum. Tatum definitely has the better start.

Kobe was so much quicker with much better handles. He can be the primary ball handler on a team. Tatum 1 on 1 could barely drive past his man. Also without the handles and passing ability, his upside is somewhat capped. I see him being a Carmelo impact type of player at his prime.

Tatum does NOT have a Kobe/Durant ceiling. He'd be lucky to ever be considered a top 5 player in the league.

You guys need to step back and look at things objectively.

Nuh probably not, but it's a good video nonetheless.

He's got some amazing moves and his shots on Embiid & Bamba in that 1 on 1 video were INSANE.

he probably wont be the next kobe ( i mean cmon kobe is an all time god) but this is pretty cool. i would not be surprised if he has a similar career to kobe tho.

If I was a boston fan, I'd absolutely take next Paul Pierce. Peak PP used to cook big time. I think Tatum will finish this season as the number 1 option especially after, wait for it...Bos moves Kyrie sometime between now and deadline. Maybe before camp.

I totally would expect Hayward being traded before Kyrie based on roster fit/needs. Did I miss something definitive that Kyrie doesn't want to be on a contending team for the next several years?

No. He's the next Larry Bird. Black Bird.

Yeah they're called Knicks/Nets fans.

The rumour's basically been perpetrated by New York media who think that Butler and Kyrie are going to form a superteam in New York due to rumours from a year and a half ago.

Next Paul Pierce. Tatum does not have Kobe’s explosiveness.

His post game and footwork remind me of Kobes, but like others have said he's not the athlete that Bean was. His faceup game with a live dribble looks a lot like Melos too, lots of side to side dribble with hesitations into shots.

His skillset for his age is really something.

It's early so let's see how it goes. My guess is he doesn't quite develop the playmaking and handles of Kobe, and his athleticism is a slight downgrade. Maybe a more athletic Pierce or a poor man's Durant which is not a bad comparison to me at all because that's still a perennial All-Star in my mind. I really thought Carmelo type player before last season, but I think he can end up better. He's really good, one of the most promising players to come out of Duke.

Wins in 7 games at home by 4 total points after the Celtics starting center tears up his knee minutes into Game 6.....cites it as "domination".

He is taller than Kobe and has a better shot at the same age. That is a big advantage. SF is the best scoring position in the NBA. Kobe can always be checked by larger wings. Tatum will have the Durant advantage of being larger than most wings.

No one cares about maybe 15% less athleticism.

Tatum has a better chance of being a hybrid Davis/Durant/PG13 combo than Kobe. He has a chance to grow another 2 inches, and in combination with his length and size, could make him one of the most skilled big men in the game.
