Top 3 in assists all time for a SG and #30 overall in all time assists = ballhog?

Also, Tatum averaged 1.6 assists haha

Says who? He was averaging 25+ppg in the ECF as a rookie, he has the physical tools and is an above average NBA athlete and he's only 20, dude has HOF ceiling and that's not a hot take.

You guys need to step back and look at things objectively.
And what are we missing that you can so clearly see?

I see a rookie that went over expectations in his first year and overachieved in the playoffs. He has the physical tools, the talent and the mentality of a star.

It's impressive that a user with the name "dukes_wild" and a Duke flair will **** on a blue devil because of their Toronto fandom. Truly saddening.

I think he's much closer to Pierce. He deferred way more than Kobe would have in game 7. Remember kobes Salt Lake air balls? But at least he was taking the shots.

Tatum is a far more efficient shooter than Kobe ever was. Not sure who I'd compare him too, but not Kobe.

I kinda find it hilarious, and not that surprising that Tatum already has as TS and efg better then Kobe ever.

I think Tatum will probably end up being a better offensive player given his role expands, and that he already has some semblance of efficiency without getting preferential treatment from the refs. Defensively its kinda hard to compare since the celtics play really great team defense.

I’m always so amazed at stuff like this. Taking context completely out of it. Tatum was a rookie and defenses were not double and triple teaming him like Kobe most of his career. Let’s see Tatum be the man and hold the numbers for a long period like Kobe and other stars.

Reminds me when people were saying manu was better than Kobe cause Duncan and Parker we’re injure and he was putting up big numbers as a starter.

Then he hit a massive wall and he said cause he was tired and it was hard to sustain that effort.

Yeah. Context.

then age match them. Tatum did many things better then Kobe at 19. Most advanced metrics across the board favor him. Career numbers are meaningless here but its just funny kobe was never as efficient a shooter. Which is a difficult reality for kobe stans to have to accept :D

Your big 3 got dominated by a "ball hog"? Must hurt...

Wins in 7 games at home by 4 total points after the Celtics starting center tears up his knee minutes into Game 6.....cites it as "domination".

And Garnett limping the entire playoffs. Yea, dude's awesome. Living in his own world.

Anyhow, I think Tatum has gotten some of Kobe's moves, but he will be his own man. Imo, he's a way more efficient 3 point shooter and 2 point as well, Kobe was the better athlete. Only time will tell. If Jayson could be Melo with more efficiency and defense, I'd take that, too.

Kobe averaged 1.3 in his first year in the league, played 71 games, 16 minutes a game, in his second his averaged 2.5, 26 mins a game, 3rd year he averaged 3 assists, played 38 minutes a game. Jokes on you, at least research your own players before posting, yea?(oh and Kobe didn't play with Kyrie and Horford in his first year, obviously).

Oh and just for you- Kobe's first FG%= ,417, 2nd = .428, 3rd = .465. Obviously Tatum shot better in his first year in the PLAYOFFS than Kobe shot throughout his first 3 seasons with the Lakers.

As the lone star, Kobe wasn't too successful either. He didn't even make the playoffs. People here are very uneducated.

Kobe Bryant is a 5x champion, 2x FMVP, MVP, 11× All-NBA First Team, 9× NBA All-Defensive First Team(2x second and third team)

What is the likelihood Tatum reaches that?

Let him get a few more seasons under his belt before these crazy comparisons.

Advanced stats. Harden is a better player than Kobe? No? Then don't use advanced stats without context because it makes you guys look really stupid. If you have never seen young Kobe play then stfu because all the advance stats in the world ain't going to win your argument for you

I'm reading this thread and apparently Kobe passed the ball ...

When we compare older players to younger players, history is usually written in the older players favor.

I have no idea if Taytum will be as good or better than Kobe. All I know is that Kobe sucked in his first two playoff appearances while being in a reserve role. Taytum started and played like a boss all the way through the ECF.
