Wow, Spurs get at least three years of proven All-Star DeMar DeRozan and a late 1st round pick. Raptors get one year rentals of Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green and then have to rebuild again.

Strange trade. Does Toronto really think they have a chance of resigning Kawhi Leonard next summer?

Kind of curious to see what our main enemies think of this trade.

As raps fan I am ecstatic, even if Kawhi leaves next year. You said for DD "proven all star" so I am just wondering would you take him and who would you give from Celts roster for him?

No but they get out of Demars contract even when Kawhi walks.

I know he sucks in the playoffs, but he's a legitimate Top 15 player in the league and worth the $27 million per season he is being paid. Why would they want to get out of his contract? No bigtime free agents will be signing in Toronto anytime soon.

When Kawhi walks after one season and Lowry continues to decline, Raptors will go back to being a lottery team.

Yeah and then they can rebuild instead of being stuck as a high level treadmill team. And i respect your opinion and all, but there's probably at least 30 players i take over Demar. He is a low impact player, but i expect the Spurs to change that to a point.

I personally put philly and indy above toronto still. And that is with a healthy and motivated kawhi.

If leonard doesnt care about toronto then they have just taken step 1 of a major rebuild and masai going to philly to pick up after bc again.

Toronto - a 59 win team - just dramatically upgraded their roster for 2018-19. Rental or not, that is not great news for Celtics.

It also means that when he joins the Lakers in 2019, they will still have Ingram, Ball, Kuzma and Hart and all their draft picks.

Depends on alot of variable.

Like Leonard showing up. Leonard being healthy. Lowry not tuning out his coach.

It's a great deal for you guys, I still think the Celtics are better but that series would be a battle. And yeah Kawhi probably walks, but even if/when he does, oh well. Took a shot on this year and then can rebuild.

I haven't been on the Raps board but i do wonder what all those fans who **** on Danny for moving IT, and saying they are glad they don't have to root for that kind of front office, are saying. Danny always makes it clear nobody is untouchable, Masai just told Demar they weren't going to trade him.

If Kawhi decides to play and is healthy then look out. Raptors were really good last year but the usual suspects (mainly Demar) shat their pants in front of LeBron. Switching Demar with healthy Kawhi is huge.

It definitely helps you guys for next season, but after that you're kind of ****. If I'm the Raptors, I would've run it back with the same roster for another season under a new coach. I was curious to see what effect Nurse would have in the playoffs.

In terms of Derozan, he's a legitimate All-Star starter in the East. We already have Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, and Jayson Tatum on the wings so Boston doesn't need him and wouldn't trade anything of value for him. We couldn't afford his contract anyway.
