This is a huge win for the raptors imo. I never thought that highly of derozen though. You take the risk and if he doesn't stay, it's a nice salary dump and you can start the rebuild. Shocked og wasn't in the deal.

Toronto seems to have a good culture and have kept onto their guys. Kind of similar to OKC, but with a much better city. Great move for them and a little bit of added pressure on us to compete for Home court as it went from not really mattering to being a pretty big pivot point.

This is with Kawhi engaged and healthy. Smart would add somewhere between 3 to 5 wins, per Goldstein. We'll shatter these projections anyway.

Wow, they didn't even need to give up OG. :o They upgraded from Demar to Kawhi, kept most of their young talent. Crazy good gamble by Raptors even if Kawhi leaves after next season.

Good point. This adds some regular season wins for us, for the wrong reasons.

If I'm Toronto I'm going full tard and trading OG and Siakam for Jimmy Butler.

I like both young guys, but neither are future cornerstones. Mind as well go for broke, cause if Kawhi bolts as expected, you're a basement team anyways.

Hey, if you're going whip it out and smack the world, do it with your pants off.

Shocked as well. The Spurs effed this up.

Love this for Toronto. At worst, they get out from under DeRozan's deal.

Actually, I could see it happening like this:

1- Boston
2 - Indiana
3 - Milwaukee
4 - Toronto
5 - Philly

Depends a lot on KL. Will he be 100%? Will he mesh with his new team? Will losing Derozan be huge for Toronto? I really think the Pacers will be Boston's biggest challenge this year. I also think people are giving too much credit to Philly because of the way they ended the season last year (beating almost all sub .500 teams).

As of right now, looks like he will try his best not to.

Yep. Indiana gave us some problems last year, too. They had a phenomenal offseason. They're gonna be really good.

The only current player that is able to have an impact on a team like that is LeBron James. Kawhi is good but not James good. If you think Kawhi will lead Raps to Finals to get crushed by GSW you’re sadly mistaken.

Nah, Neo eventually surpasses Morpheus.

It's more like we're Neo and they're Smith. Perpetually right about at our level, sometimes seeming a bit above, sometimes a bit below, but never quite able to close the deal when it really counts.

I think they're more like that weird squid robot that Neo disabled in like ten seconds with his completely inexplicable real world superpowers at the end of the second movie, but to each his own.

One last time: don't believe the LA media hype. No George. No Leonard. Things have changed.

You just going to forget they signed the best player in all of sports to a 4 year deal?

This has what exactly to do with me saying they won't get Leonard or George in multiple threads?

Cave/Valid/others disagreed. Many others said it was a lock for them to aquire one of those players. It wasn't. My take was correct.

All your post does is reinforce my point. Even with Lebron, they couldn't get George or KL this year.

You nailed it this offseason, brother. Props. And what's even better is that Philly also got skunked. lol.

i like it for both teams.. SAS definitely caved when it came to value but they get a proven 28 yr old All Star to add to their team.. That will allow them to compete in the West.. For Toronto, they get out of the DD contract and hope they can convince Leonard to stay.. If not, they hit the reset button

Nah. I don't like this for the Spurs at all. DeRozan is a grossly overrated player on a bad contract and the Spurs couldn't even swipe Anunoby in the deal. Awful deal for them.

Just remember boys and girls, TRUST THE PROC...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This is exactly what that pathetic franchise deserves. You don't say "Screw you" to your fans for 6 years by intentionally losing every game you can and then expect to suddenly by a great team. Philly has established a culture of losing, and that is exactly what they are going to continue to do!!!!
