Masai can only be loyal to a point with the players and DD. Masai's loyalty remain with the team and in turn the fans. If the deal is there to get a true MVP player then he has to take it. Masai was not disloyal to DD but loyal to the team.

There is no loyalty in business. This trade in no way impacts our ability to attract free agents.

That's great and all but where did that lead us? We had to continually overpay for mediocre players just to sign here for free agency. DD is one of the most loved players in the league and the Raptors were a respected organization that were winning games and yet we couldn't even attract any real stars to play here.

If healthy, Kawhi is top 3 player in the league. You take a risk on him and if it doesn't work out, you rebuild. We were not going anywhere with this current core, certainly not getting past the Celtics. We aren't ever going to get someone of Kawhi's caliber in free agency.

ok dude

lets just relocate the franchise instead of trying to build a reputation as a place people get treated well and people want to be.

Have you ever worked for a business before? Companies will only treat their employees well if it achieves their goals of making more money. Ultimately, they don't give a crap about the individual workers or whether they're happy or not if they're no longer needed and will get rid of you in an instant if you're no longer an asset.

The Raptors are a business just like any other team in the NBA.

Where's the loyalty when they're paying you $139 million only to continually choke in the playoffs year after year.

Maybe if he showed up and didn’t choke year after year, he would still be here.

Well, I guess I have my answer now, you have no idea how businesses are run.

Are you DeRozan fan or Raptors fan? How can you mourn a fact that your team got exponentially better? Seriously what are you doing here? Go to Spurs board and shred your tears and spare us of your melodrama!

This is the NBA not a Fortune 500.

You keep trying to act like loyalty/image mean nothing to a team like the Raptors.

Wait..hold up...you think that there is even a 1% chance of Kawhi singing here?

The NBA is not far off from and Fortune 500 company considering the money that is involved.

Do you understand that we were a laughing stock of the league after getting swept by the Cavs again? No stars respected our team after seeing that sorry display. No one is taking us seriously and no stars are going to sign with us in that environment.

Wait, who does PG play for? According to everyone in the entire world a couple months back, it's the Lakers.

DeMar can go f himself. He described Leonard as "a little bit of nothing" in his tweet. He's loyal only to himself and his ego.
Everybody is losing their freaking minds. Nutbars and wingnuts have infested this forum. We've become a public lavatory without cleaning staff.

As I sat back watching the most recent Cavs/Raps series and watching DeRozan not make a single three for the entire series;
The first thing that sprang to mind was "I am really enjoying the loyalty I am seeing"

true. you can't keep failing in the playoffs and not expect major moves. derozan had to be benched in the playoffs at times because of how poor he was playing, ffs.

How about the season he took it upon himself to jack his Usage through the roof because he was upset with where he ranked in a Sports Illustrated Online column? That was dynamite loyalty.
