this is the inevitable massive PR hit as a result of how the Raptors conducted their marketing by anointing DeMar as franchise cornerstone and all-time great.

At first I was concerned about the reputation hit Toronto would take for this deal but then I realized hey wait a minute:

The people upset over this trade are casual fans who don't know the difference between true shooting and fg% or talking heads that already have pre-built narratives on Toronto. As for the NBA players condemning us for how we treated our 'star' get the #*&% outta here - how many of you signed with us in free agency since 1995 ANYWAYS? We built Demar's career, put him in a position to succeed with high minutes and trust to always improve his game. We as fans voted him into the all star game and made him a 5x all star.
