Kevin Knox Comparison?

Post#1 » by BimboColes » Wed Jul 18, 2018 9:19 pm

I see a little Shawn Marion in him honestly. Just super athletic and will be a great defender. Thoughts?

he's shown literally nothing to make anyone think he's gonna be a great defender

and certainly not at a Marion level

on the offensive side of the ball I think he's incredibly different as well

Hes a pure shooter, unlike marion, and a smooth as butter driver

I loved marion but I simply see zero comparisons besides size

I see more Tobias Harris or Rudy Gay or someone like that

I hope Im wrong
he's very young and can develop into a defender someday

I guess it was more his athleticism I was referring to with him potentially becoming a good defender. Like him or not, Melo left a gaping hole in terms of scoring that needs to be filled to leave the fans satisfied, so if Knox can score maybe we can be patient while he works on defense. Without KP he'll be taking a load on his back but it's also great to esxpose a rookie to a big workload early on IMO as long as its not Thibodeau levels.

i think he's got a long way to go on defense but he's 18 and he has the trust and patience of the coaching staff. hopefully the fans too.

he has the tools to be a good defender
its up to him to see if he puts the effort in

Rudy Gay is a great comp. How about Harrison Barnes ? Barnes is at minimum developed into an average defender.

I dont think Miller could ever attack the rim like Gay or Knox has shown.

I've said it from Day 1: Klay Thompson. Maybe a little Antwan Jamison or Danny Granger.

He looks a lot like a bouncier version of pre-knee-problem Danny Granger...or maybe a quicker Rudy Gay...to me.

Hopefully, that superior athleticism helps him become a better defender than either of those two, but if he can hit their heights offensively we'll be fine even if he ends up a mediocre defender at best.

Yeah to make a comparison for Knox is hard Gay Love Jamison all come to mind. But we really won't know because he is so raw so it will likely take some time to develop a playing style.

Knox doesnt pass enough or create enough off the dribble for others to be a Klay/Granger. Plus both of those guys are above average defenders. We havent seen enough of Knox to characterize his defense.

This thread is going to be pure comedy. Before it gets a lil ugly. Looking forward to the inevitable lock.

He reminds me of Kevin Knox.
