I've said it from Day 1: Klay Thompson. Maybe a little Antwan Jamison or Danny Granger.

Knox doesnt pass enough or create enough off the dribble for others to be a Klay/Granger. Plus both of those guys are above average defenders. We havent seen enough of Knox to characterize his defense.

He definitely doesn't have Granger's post up game, but I actually think he's shown more potential to create off the dribble than Granger. Danny was a great shooter with length, who could make space for his shot with his dribbling, but didn't attack the rim all that much & I think Knox has the potential to be a good bit more dangerous off the dribble once his handle tightens up some more.

...NVM just noticed you said "create enough off the dribble...for others". I think Knox actually showed some promising signs about that side of his game developing in SL, as he did a nice job looking for his team-mates as well as his own shot in the final 2 games where he didn't have Frank next to him & had to run the offense more. That's why I bring up Gay as well as Granger, because I think Knox has the potential to be great at running PNRs with dudes once his handle improves, he fills out a little more, and his shot becomes automatic to draw dudes tight to him.

It's tough to say exactly how he'll play given that he was in such a strictly defined role at Kentucky.

• And yet he did all of that in SL. Averaging like 2.5 APG passing to G-Leaguers.

• Leading fastbreaks.

• Defending his man decently. Neither Granger nor Klay were/are elite defenders. Just BARELY above average.

and certainly not at a Marion level

on the offensive side of the ball I think he's incredibly different as well

Hes a pure shooter, unlike marion, and a smooth as butter driver

I loved marion but I simply see zero comparisons besides size

I see more Tobias Harris or Rudy Gay or someone like that

I hope Im wrong
he's very young and can develop into a defender someday

Rudy Gay is a great comp. How about Harrison Barnes ? Barnes is at minimum developed into an average defender.

i hope he has more of an alpha dog in him than Barnes but thats a good comp too

I honestly have already seen more of a willingness to be the man from Knox than I expected

dude its summer league and he was given the green light to do anything he wanted...

I'm not gonna use SL as a sample size to determine whether or not a rookie has shown to be an average defender. You're the one being ridiculous. What we learned in SL is that he's got a soft touch on his shots, strong to the rim, can only finish with 1 hand, ability to draw fouls and play through contact.

Saying a lot more beyond that is you projecting skills onto him that he hasnt shown.

not that he’ll ever be this good, but his athleticism reminds me of Scottie Pippen

To my knowledge a horse wouldn't even be allowed in the league if a team in some insane scenario even wanted to do that so I don't really get it lol.

You're not using SL as a guide, and you're not going by SL to say he can't handle the ball...but you ARE saying he DOESN'T have a handle.

Knife cuts both ways my man.

If we’re lucky a more athletic Paul Pierce.

Looking fwd to the Knox at the 4 KP at the 5 lineups during the games. Good luck to the big men trying to stop those two.

they let Rodman into the league

why wouldn't they let in a horse?

is it because its Black Beauty and they are racist?

Dennis Rodman is a basketball player and a horse can be in the Kentucky derby but I've literally never seen a horse in another sport at any level (collegiate or high school) I don't see the comparison.

It’s so obvious but people are scared to say it.
His game resembles Kevin Durant. Boom.
Is he Kevin Durant? No but they have similar games...particularly the young version of KD.

I see a cross between Tom Chambers and Craig Hodges, but only in the 1991 version of "Lakers v Bulls" on Sega Genesis (and only when you'd plug Hodges in at center).

Basically, unstoppable.

I hate player comps because I feel it leads to lazy analysis.

Take the Rudy n Tobias comps and mix them up in a pot, sprinkle a little Danny Granger on top, wtf do you got? You got the realest n illest comps tied up in a knot, the juggernaut of this 18’ Draft shyt, like it or not :eyebrows:
