Kawhi's a Raptor now so time to close this. No Raptors threads on our forum, or we'll become just like them having hot take threads about the C's.

This trade changes nothing. Celtics are still the team to beat in the east. Kawhi is only a rental and will be going to La at the end of the year. The last place he wants to go is toronto. Not happening.

He should have expanded his list, but didn't and as a result he is suffering the consequences of that. Moving on he is a raptor now. No need to discuss it any further.

Boston Celtics are still the best team in the east, second best team in the NBA, and will be representing the east in the NBA finals. The best franchise in the NBA.

Wow. The Raptors have nothing to lose whatsoever doing this trade. The choice was DeMar for one more year + a partial or Leonard for a year with the very outside shot at more. DD was a not an asset that could be easily moved without taking something back and the team was capped out. You do this deal 100 times out of 100. One of Ujiri's better trades. It's like having DD walk away early from a deal you'd rather not have to honor to the end. One shot at glory now. Should be fun to watch.

The Raptors, really going for it, to ruin a franchise completely. It wasn't DeRozan who was the prize, it was Jakob Poeltl and his 66% from the field shooting.

Toronto traded two of their top four for PER, to rent a broken player who has not played for many months, or spoken for many years.

I suspect that you have no way of knowing this... but CHL is just kidding....that's what he does 24/7 on here...We all know it and accept it for what it is....that is what he does...he spoofs what ever he talks about... but it's the detail that he goes to that's funny to those of us who get the joke....I have to admit that CHL loves to pick on Raptor fans like yourself.....but don't take it personal...just smile and take it!

Sorry , I had no clue. Been a lot of Toronto and Canada bashing between Stephen A Smith and Chris Carter and Shannon Sharp making it seem like it's almost a punishment coming to Toronto for the year.

Looking forward to a good year of great games and hopefully a great playoff matchup.

I am not sure about that. He is warming to toronto but doesn't want to play in boston. Not sure i believe that. One of the reason celtics didn't trade for him is because he wouldn't give an assurance of being open to re-signing with them. He has no choice but to report to the raptors, play for them for a year, and he is free to whatever he wants to do at that point.

I had that thought a little while ago as well. On the scale of evils, Toronto doesn't even rate compared to LA.

Besides, I'm almost more tired of hearing about how much better the West is than the East, than I am desirous of seeing TOR and Philly fail. Yes, having the East be an absolute void of a conference means easier walks to the Finals, but, will a cakewalk prepare us for encountering the buzzsaw that is GS?

And is that what we really want anyway? We get on Durant for taking the cakewalkiest road, so it doesn't really seem right for us to be all afraid of the East having other actual decent teams.

Part of me says, "Shut it SMT. There's no good reason to specifically root for a harder road to the finals. Keep that high-minded crap to yourself." Another part is saying, "Screw it, I hope Toronto's gamble pays off. I hope Philly's kids make something of themselves. So this era can give us some great series to look back on."

I guess I won't be bothered much by anything that happens. If Kawhi walks after a year, I'll enjoy their shambles. If he stays after all, I'll enjoy LA's shambles. If Philly busts hard, I'll enjoy it. And if they get legit, I'll enjoy that too. I'm ready to take all comers.
