I hate to say it but I want carmelo
We are nowhere to building something young and upcoming, besides Blake griffin and the guys convincing him to come, I think laur, ish, and Galloway is as good as Schroeder, Carmelo would make Ellenson, Bullocks, Kennard wide open, , all thes offensive players make Johnson better cause he doesn’t have to shoot at all, a lot guys who want the ball, a bunch of role guys that can shoot, and the best rebounder in the game, we’d definitly win some games, we’d have a shot at the finals with lebron gone, a lot of tv time, I think some fans would show up, and if it failed it would be mad drama and over in a yr or two, why not, it’s more fun than we’ve had in a decade, I think Carmelo could still really excel for a yr or two with the right guys around him, we’d legitimately have potentially 3-4 all stars, and all our young guys would be put in good situations to be productive and raise there value, maybe sign Tyler Ulis, and another vet min on David west...,. Doesn’t that roster sound fun, we can burn in all down after two seasons but look it all the fun we’d have. Lol

Wee might as well try to squeeze one in like Dirk did, Philly is. Two yrs at most from domination of the east. This would be his best shot at the finals, at least the easy would be, fans would come out and there would be excitement,i and Johnson, Bollocks, Drummond, Kennard, and possibly Ellenson would be in there correct role increasing there value on the floor and in trade value

Melo would never play here IMO. The Hawks were exploring trading the long term money of Schroeder to bring Melo in, buy him out and then he gets to go to Houston or LA.

Re: I hate to say it but I want carmelo
Go look at Melos stats and let me know where he contributes to winning basketball. He is a negative on the court with his style of play.
Look at how bad the +/- numbers are even with him on the court with PG and WestBrook.

The time to get MELO was in the draft many many years ago. He’s washed AF now. Only reason to get him is if were trying to tank the season.

Melo can veto any trade, and only will agree to a trade if there is a buyout. He's going to Houston.

I’d rather bring back Kelvin Cato.

I don't think Melo is toast, but he's not coming here. Even if he did, we're not the type of situation where he might excel. He still thinks of himself as a star, and he's not going to be effective playing like that. He needs to go somewhere that it's clear he's the 6th man. If he bought into the roll, he could bring a lot of firepower to a second unit.

I'd love him here if he was bought out and wanted to sign here. But then again I like acquiring washed up stars - I mean I loved the AI deal at the time.

I agree with all the negative comments, if we could make the deal, I’m all over it, this’s guys haven’t done much for us anyways.

Basketball skillwise, he is way overpaid and not very effective anymore. But he is a huge expiring contract. If we wanted to start our rebuild, and we could swap Galloway, Leuer, and something for him, and then buy him out, that seems like a good move. We would have a lot more flexibility next year.

Re: I hate to say it but I want carmelo
I would help this team more than Melo at this point. At least I could sit on the bench all season and not be a net negative on the court.
Melo plays one end and on that end all he does is jack up shots which makes at a very inefficient rate.

I don't think the dude is capable of playing team oriented ball at this day and age. He's way too ingrained in his ways,
He'll go out the way of Iverson in his out of prime status. Fitting considering how much he was influenced by AI anyways.
But HOU should definitely look forward to all of those jab steps and long 2s with zero defense. Perfect since they lost Luc Mbah Moute and Ariza. /sarcasm

Atlanta just dumped Schroeder because of his long term money (and not being worth it). I doubt the Hawks would want to reverse course and flip Anthony for longer deals and more guys who aren't worth near what they're being paid.

I loved it too. I especially liked the Tracy McGrady signing. He played for the Pistons! How sick is that!?
