Doesn't matter. If Pels feels AD will opt out and walk, they'll have a big decision to make. Trade him or hope for the best. And if they do try and trade him, it's another "will he be a rental? can you resign him" situation.

Look at what the Spurs got for Kawhi. He was injured. Then he faked injury and sat out. Didn't want to play there. Spurs had no leverage. Not to mention on top of all that, he's significantly inferior to AD.

True, in the 2nd half of last season Davis legit looked like the best player in the league. Davis will be hard to get.
Good assessment:

And another thing, they may have been said in this ridiculous thread, is who cares if he comes off the bench? If anyone pays any attention to this Celtics team under Stevens is it doesn’t matter who the **** starts. It just shows how our society is. Believe the talking points but ignore the results.

What if we trade Morris to Philly in return they remove the nr. 1 protection on SAC pick? Isn't he better than Bjelica?

I like it but would assume Philly would want to hang onto that minor chance. I am all on board with trading Morris though. Any positive contributions he may have had are over rated imo. I believe we are better without him. That said having him around as useful depth just in case is a nice luxury.

Yeah, Sixers will definitely go for that.

We need at least one more take advantage of some GM trade this summer.

I think you're underestimating how valuable both Jaylen and Jayson are and will be next summer... Young and on rookie deals. Derozan is 29 yrs old making 28 mil a season.. and shoots the 3 worse than Marcus. Even if Kawhi were healthy and didn't demand a trade.... teams trading for him would still need some level of security he'd resign before giving up huge assets. Most teams still wouldn't do it.

Obviously if they both become superstars, we won't be including them both in the deal. Well, depends on whether AD comes with an extension... But if they are great young players who haven't been anointed as one of the elites among all NBA players, you won't be getting AD for Brown and fillers.

FYI, I've been a supporter of smart resigning all year. I just don't post 50 times in a thread about it.

In game threads, if Smart has a stinker of a game, I complain too, but that's all players. He has far more positive impact far more often than not.

Exactly. Unless you are a member of Baynes family, you can't say he was one of our 5 best players. If you are, that's awesome!

Even in the playoffs. He was basically taking on the Warriors by himself and was pretty competitive. In a few years, it won't matter how many more allstars GS gets, AD will be the best player and the best player usually wins championships in the NBA.

I guess the Cs weren’t up for the gamble of Smart having a breakout year this upcoming season, and decided to go with the overpay. It’s not the worst contract this team has seen, but it surely isn’t great. Hopefully he learns to shoot over the offseason.

I know not everyone agrees with me but I think the Celtics who could be moved are Nader and Yabusele. Nader moved (or option not picked up) for Bird and Yabusele if Ainge has someone in mind for the MLE.

This works in a vacuum but I don't see Morris being happy being the 4th wing on the depth chart (which doesn't even include developing Semi). I think he actually said earlier in the off-season that he was concerned about this. I don't see him being someone like Baynes who is happy playing 30 min one night, 5 min another and taking 2 shots total. If he is fine with it though, then that would be great.
