Rudy Gay is probably the best comparison but there isn't a great 1:1 comp. Even going back to his UConn days, Rudy never really had "it", never had that killer instinct and dog that I hope Knox has.

KD was being guarded by Melo in this game though...anyone could put up career highs against Melo’s D

KD has always been such a natural scorer. If knox ever reaches that level... man oh man

Guess Knox will put up two career highs this year then. ;)

That's pretty damn cool

They move exactly the same

And their shooting motion is exactly the same. They both get extension on their jumpers, cock their wrists back and pull the trigger exactly the same.

KD2 said KD is their model. It is obvious he patterned his game after him and now their physical types are going to be very close as well as Knox gains a couple of inches of height. The only difference there is Knox will be more muscular and have more power than Durant. Knox' shoulders are big.

Worst case: taller version of Bonzi Wells

Best case: taller more athletic Paul Pierce

Knox is more athletic than Durant, but Durant is and was a much better scorer coming out of school.

Similar but I see some differences. I been throwing out the KD/Giannis hybrid line for some time now but here's where KD and Knox differ:

* KD's shot had a quicker trigger
* KD was faster and quicker where as Knox at 18 is less quick-twitchy but more smooth
* Knox actually looks a bit longer to me than KD did as a rook
* KD walked into the league with a tighter handle than Knox currently has
* Knox has longer strides when attacking the rim

I will be very satisfied if he becomes a Michael Finley with steady output at 20ppg to be a good second option.

Great post with the KD vid. I remember him well that year, horrible fg% (didnt reference his stats) but his talent was there and undeniable. I remember he couldnt bench press a thing at that time.

Sounds right but this kid was the leading scorer in the entire state of Florida. There are no striking differences in their games at comparable ages.
It’s exciting to know he’s on our squad.

Hong Kong is a cool place, btw. Spent a lot of time for business in Asia. Everyone should experience that culture for a little while, imo.
