Glad to see the Coutinho money being used wisely.

Sad that Ox is going to be out the whole year. Was hoping we could use him in January-May :(

The CL loss was one of the better ways to lose. The team is angry and some flaws (lack of depth and goalkeeping) got exposed. If they had just got their asses handed to them fair and square, it would have been demoralizing.

There are rumors of a huge transfer warchest. Between the CL money and Coutinho cash, it should be greater than 200m pounds. Liverpool already has Keita coming in. They need another winger, a CAM, a DM and a GK. If they can get several world class players to fill those holes, Liverpool will be even tougher next year.

DM . . . check. Fabinho was the fastest transfer saga ever.

Mane - Firmino - Salah
???? - Keita - Fabinho
Robertson - Van Dijk - Lovren - TAA
????

CAM . .. check. Lyon dragged this one out a little.

Mane - Firmino - Salah
Fekir - Keita - Fabinho
Robertson - Van Dijk - Lovren - TAA
?????

Still need a back up winger and a GK. Not sure how much cash they have left or if Keita counts against it or last year's spending. Assuming that he counts against this year and my estimate was right, Liverpool should have about 70m pounds plus what they get from sales left. They seem to be balking at the huge prices being asked for Allison and Oblak.

Liverpool's midfield went from being pretty average to one of the best in the world. At least, based on the last 12 months of play. Fifa only means so much, but the fact that 7 of Liverpool's future starters were in their "team of the season" for last year is encouraging.

Uncheck CAM, check GK (hopefully)

Mane - Firmino - Salah
???? - Keita - Fabinho
Robertson - Van Dijk - Lovren - TAA
Becker

Not sure about Fekir. Liverpool seemed to be really freaked out about his medical. Reddit had reports that his ACL fix was not done well.

Either way, so far the window is Keita, Fabinho, Shaqiri and Becker is one hell of a window.

Good stuff!

Man I'm ready to win the league. I think we have a pretty damn solid squad. Now we just need to focus, and get a little luck with the injury bug. Let's do this!

If we get a replacement for the OX & possibly add another CB, I think we'll be in pretty damn good shape.

I anticipate the club selling Mignolet. Karius will either be loaned out or the #2 behind Alisson.

Keep in mind that the Window closes in 3 weeks. So, things should happen sooner rather than later.

We brought on Lallana in a CL Final. Shaqiri is a big upgrade there and for cheap.

I'm glad you think so. An uninjured Lallana is a very good player.

Shaqiri has talent but is a mardy (leicester word) strop.

If that were true you'd walk the league easier than Mancity last season.

I don't think it is true but I'd have you as favourites for the title anyway.

Haven't you heard? Lovren is world-class now.

Honestly, if we had one more CB, I'd feel really good about our chances. Alisson signing would obviously be a big upgrade. I still worry a little about our depth. But, I do think barring injuries, the club will compete.

City are the favorites, as they should be.

Lallana is never not injured. Shaqiri was a Bayern player at one point. Lallana has only looked good for 6 months for Liverpool.

The difference is the depth. City had players coming off the bench that would start for majority of Europe's elite. Ox is out for the year and we'll be relying on Sturridge/Lallana/Matip. We need a bit of luck but no issues with people calling us the favorites. For the first time in forever if we don't win the league it'll be a disappointment.

shaqiri was a relegated stoke player afterwards, what does that tell you?

Lallana was great for southampton

There's not one Liverpool fan who thinks Lallana is a better option than Shaqiri. Give your head a wobble.

Man City's depth is just absurd. Their second string XI is a dam good club by itself. Its going to be really hard to overcome that for anyone. The other big clubs also are fighting in europe and the cups. That just doesn't leave much margin for error.

Beating a dead horse here....but step #1 for a title is not having 10 - 12 draws this year. 12 draws is basically a third of your season. That's effing pathetic. Your never going to win crap doing that.

This team needs to change it attitude toward the "lesser" squads.

After some point (I'd say 7 draws) those draws start to become losses essentially. This more than anything will determine our fate. We may not have the squad City does....but we certainly have a better squad that Everton.

Nobody wants to see us win the league more than me. But at some point, you have to have a little bit of luck, and I doubt anything we did would have changed last years winner. City just had that year. Nothing you can do. But if we lose by 3-4 points, yet keep ourselves down around 5-6 draws, and give ourselves a real chance up to the end.....thats all you can ask.

Won't matter who we sign, or what City does, or who gets hurt if we keep throwing 2points down the sh***er every third game this season.

Ran into John Riise at a nightclub here in New York last night. Couldn't of been a nicer guy!
