I worked a job for a major brand company last offseason where the top prospects came in to hear pitches to sign with the company.
Based on those short interactions I thought for sure Tatum and Issac would be the two best players in the draft class. Jonathan Issac just had this confidence to him that none of the other players came in with, and really carried himself and spoke in a way that set him apart.
I was shocked that Issac seemed to underperform as a rookie, and would not be surprised to see him take a step forward this year.

tatum had a good rookie year unlike others in his class but he still might make the biggest leap; becoming an all star this year

Tatum might especially if he plays anything close to like his playoff games.
That dunk over LeBron was nasty.
That said, I think it will be hard with so many weapons the Cs have this season.
Hayward and Kryie will be taking a lot of shots that Tatum took during the playoffs.
We shall see.

Yeah, so if he stays healthy and gets playing time. I hope Thibs can trade Dieng and free minutes for Pattondorkestra wrote:minimus wrote:If healthu, Justin Patton will surprise a lot of people.

Fultz was supposed to be one of the best players of the draft, a major leap would be living up to the hype and being the guy he was supposed to be. Anything short of that doesn't seem like a leap at all.

Re: Which sophomores will make a major leap this year?

averaged 17 ppg 7 assists on 43.9 FG% , 35.4% from 3 last 10 games of the season. expecting him to put up similar numbers this season
2nd vote was on Tatum. think he becomes an all star this season

I voted Lauri and Jackson. I feel like Jackson has a ton of growing to do. He’s a really sick athlete and is the type of wing that takes time to develop.
Lauri is just a beast. He’s going to dominate next to WCJR. I really like what this young bulls team is doing.
I didn’t vote DMITCH or Tatum because their already so good. The other guy i’m excited to see is Fultz.
Overall just an amazing rookie class.

Those offseason workout videos have me believing... But it'll be interesting to see how the minutes are split amoungst him, Mudiay, and Burke. One of the three will inevitably find themselves buried on the bench or traded.
All could play the 2 also. Mudiay and Frank both have the size to defend 2's also but youre right, with Lee and THj also getting minutes at the 2 somethings gotta give... obviously we wont have everyone healthy all year, and I could see us dealing Lee or THj for expiring deals, so everyone will get a chance but I think Mudiay and Baker are the odd men out right now. Burke played like a starting point guard when he got the chance last year. Averaged 18.7p/7.7a on 48% shooting in 33.5 minutes as a starter. The starting point guard job is his to lose at this point, hopefully Frank earns it but I could see this being a timeshare.
Go Knicks!

DSJ and D’Aaron Fox - I’m optimistic both will get more playing time and hopefully they’ll shine. Fox needs to improve his shooting so hopefully he’s been working on it. Same for DSJ, but to a lesser extent. I think both are immensely talented and have a lot more potential than the media gave them credit for last year - probably cause they were on bad teams.
LeBron is going to get a lot of stats on the Lakers and Kyrie/Hayward will be back for the Celtics taking stats from Tatum as well. Guys on both those teams will be lucky to maintain what they did last year. Lonzo will be sharing minutes w/ Rondo when he basically was their only PG last year. If he’s been practicing his shot, I guess that can only get better though so he may get more points.
I think Mitchell and Simmons will have a similar seasons, which really is still good. I guess if Fultz actually gets significant minutes and looks good that would be a major leap for him compared to last year.

Well it's a thread asking for predictions. It's really more of an educated guess.

My educated guess is Frank will be out of the L in a couple years.

Based on? I actually use logic and reasoning as to why he would improve, as opposed to the eye test or whatever else you're using.

I only use the eye test. He slow, has a broken jumper, is a weak ball-handler, he just doesn’t have it.

You're the same person that thinks Alonzo Trier will be a good NBA player, so....

The fallacy of your thinking is advanced statistics > the test, that Statistics are infallible. If you know the game the eye test is the what to rely on. I watched almost every game frank has played in as a pro. I don’t need stats to tell me how what kind of player he is.
