2018 RealGM Soccer Board Draft Discussion- The Draft Has Started!

With the World Cup complete and a few weeks left until the start of the season, the RealGM soccer board draft is returning yet again!

What will we do?
A snake style draft of soccer players with ideally 16 participants. Whoever picked first in round 1, will pick last in round two and first again in round 3. Round 1 will be determined by a randomized lottery. The draft will feature 13 rounds, 1 player in each of the first 11 rounds and 2 players in the 12th and 13th. Draft wisely because no trades are allowed and each person will be allotted a maximum of 6 hours to make a pick (if you do not pick in 6 hours, you will be skipped, so I recommend setting up a notification for yourself on the draft thread for every new post and also finding a buddy to pick on your behalf if you are away).

What happens when the draft is done?
We'll draw random groups and have a poll vote which teams would probably advance. After the group stages are done, the winners will go into the knockout stage just like in the world cup.

Who is available to pick?
Every player around the world. Keep in mind that since winners will be determined by a majority vote, it might be helpful to select players who a majority of people are familiar with.

When will we start?
Once we have enough participants. I would encourage everyone to set up notifications in this thread (and in the pick thread when it is available) to make sure you don't miss the start of the draft or one of your picks. Please be extremely active from the time that you post in this thread to sign up through the completion of the draft, as this has the potential to move very quickly!

In case there are any more questions, just ask. If you want to participate, a short post here with: "I'm in." will do it.

This has been a lot tougher to fill than expected, so lets see if we can get it to 12 participants and we can do 3 groups (top 2) with two wild card picks for the knockout stage.
