Who will Lebron elevate the most?

Post#1 » by myersia » Sun Jul 22, 2018 4:45 pm

Magic believes Ingram per the article below. I agree. I really think Ingram will become a Scottie Pippen clone with Lebron. This could be the best player fit wise for LeBron that he has ever played with. Originally I thought Lonzo could benefit the most but he’s gotta improve that shot clearly. But after all this Kawhi talk I really think Ingram is an amazing fit. Your thoughts?

As for the players on the court it's a tough one. Statistically Ingram could be impacted as we all know Bron will score 25 ppg or more. Kuzma will be on the court with him fewer minutes it would seem so he may not be impacted directly by Bron but he may be better just because it's year two. Ball would seem to be impacted a little as Bron handles the ball a lot and that would seem to take away Ball's best asset at the moment.

I think his overall impact will be leadership. That isn't Ingram for sure. So maybe Brandon will benefit from not having to be the guy he isn't and he can just play.

I think the overall pace will be slower as the season moves along. Bron has historically been on slower paced teams and the playoffs are typically slower than the regular season. We seem to be set up to be a defensive minded team as well. These go hand in hand. Control the pace and play defense. Guys like Stephenson and Hart or even KCP could find a great role on a team playing this way.

In the end I think just having Bron on the court will increase the entire team's efficiency. Players of this caliber have always created great role players who when they leave never do anything again. That is where I think his biggest benefit will be.

Lonzo Ball, Lebron is going to put himself in position to allow Lonzo to make consistently smart effective passes while also allowing Lonzo to spot up and take easier shots.

Lonzo and Ingram both. KCP as well.

Lonzo is gonna benefit from having LBJ in ready position always, he’s gonna make Lonzo look even more talented as a playmaker. Once LBJ is doubled, Lonzo will hit the open guys. That’s how they’ll benefit, better looks. Lonzo’s and Ingram’s assists will go up, everyone’s scoring percentage will he helped by open looks.

Beasley.
If he truly has his head over his shoulders and not down there in his a.S tehre is a good chance he becomes of second highest scorer and finally meets his destiny as a worhty second pick on the draft.

KCP. The guy literally shot lights out from 3 as the lone starting perimeter threat last year from Hanuary to end of the year. He will eat off LeBron more so than anyone else between his shooting and his ability to get end to end quicker than Ingram or Ball

Interesting though coming from that article. There were no vets on the Lakers to really mentor these kids. After Kobe left, there was never really a veteran, outside of Deng who stayed long enough on the team to really mentor these guys. So Randle and Clarkson only got 2 years with Kobe (Randle practically only 1 because of that injury), Dlo and Nance had 1, and Ingram, Lonzo, Hart and Kuz didn't have any. Would be interesting to see how Lebron could further teach these kids tricks needed for this League. Of course, we can make do with a lot less flopping though.

LBJ will likely elevate most of the roster getting em wide open and spoon feeding em easy shots, but Lonzo will get the biggest jump in improvement.

Offensively shooting, Lonzo was utterly horrific, but hopefully with a true offseason shooting regimen and Lebron taking like 80% of the defensive attention, Lonzo is gonna see a MASSIVE jump in his 3pt shooting %, im guessing something like 36% with about 6-7 shots a game.

I dont see Lonzo as a close out attacker, defenses are gonna disrespect Lonzo until he proves he can hit those 3s at a efficient clip so will run at him but not fully commit on a closeout. Also Lonzo's swing passes are gonna be devestating if the opposite wing is ready to shoot. KCP and Ingram are gonna get ALOT of wide open 3s or closeout attack chances. I like KCP spotting up and i like Ingram on the attack to the rim.

The one who can knock down his shots consistently. I'm picking Ingram then Kuz then Hart then KCP then Beasley because we all know LBJ will command help defense and he will find the open man. The open man could be any of the players I mentioned so it basically comes down to who can knock down the shot consistently.

KCP - I think he's a perfect fit next to Lebron. I think he'll be our 2nd most impactful player, at least from an advanced stat standpoint.

I think KCP, Hart, and Kuz will naturally benefit from Lebron without a doubt. That said, I don't know if they will be the ones elevated the "most"...they are definitely the ones the most likely to be elevated though.

Looking at Lonzo or Ingram, there are uncertain factors about how much they will benefit playing next to Lebron, if at all, but they can potentially become completely different and way better players next to him.

Lonzo is a rare type of player that can seriously thrive next to Lebron, but he can also become the worst type of fit next to him.
Will he have the ball enough? He's shown his ability to make an impact without high usage and the potential is definitely there, but he may also have some ego/confidence issues in that role, and he MAY just turn into a spot up shooter with low success. Of course, even if he is utlizied the right way and fits in perfectly, he would still need to aleast make the open three at a respectable rate, period. Can he make that leap in his shooting? If he does, and if he continues to maintain his ability to make plays off the ball, you are looking and arguably the perfect point guard next to Lebron.

Ingram, to me, is a safer bet to thrive next to lebron than Lonzo, but his spot up shooting is still a question mark. I think he'll benefit greatly from the attention Lebron gets, but realistically, he needs to burn defenses with his shot to really become that All Star Level player that he can be.
