Ironically, by far the bigger problem HOU had against GSW last year was HOU's offense.

:o

actually the biggest problem vs gsw were the refs and the health...i hope morey is signing foster and brothers under the table while cp3 is learning from harden how to stay healthy

It wasn't their biggest problem against GSW; it was just by far the bigger problem than their defense was against GSW. Of course, a lot of their problems on offense can be traced back to GSW could just foul them on every attempt without getting a call and all the injuries (I think Mbah a Moute shot like 13% from range against GSW in the playoffs in the few minutes and games he played and was a terrible -50).

You have to wonder, though, all the games where CP3 was out and HOU struggled to sustain their offense with just Harden/Gordon, in the regular season as well as the playoffs. If they had Melo, would that have made a significant difference? I think it would have. HOU offense can struggle pretty mightily without two of Harden/CP3/Gordon on the floor at the same time. With Melo joining, the 3-man rotation of Harden/Melo/Gordon or CP3/Melo/Gordon when one of Harden/CP3 is in street clothes would certainly cut down on their signature dry spells where they just couldn't score a lick for 9 minutes straight.

People are so focused on Melo's weaknesses that they forget that Melo still has some skills which aren't easy to find, like creating his own shot, especially when given a whole lot of spacing, and at vet min.

It’s so funny when Rockets’ fans complain about the refs.

It was a decent signing in my opinion. Houston took a shot on a guy that should be able to space the floor as a 3 point shooting threat, and as a possible 3rd/4th scoring option behind Harden, Paul and Gordon for the vet minimum.

Worst comes to worst they can waive him, they're not financially tied to him like OKC was last season.

First one (3 pointer) was a legit missed foul.
Second one (3 pointer) was a foul, but not the kind you get in game 7 from the refs. Harden should know better.
Third one (drive) was clean. (maybe it was just there for the replay on the second one?)
Fourth one (3) was a lot like second one. Putting it before the shot seems ok. Refs already set the precedent for hunting for reaches on the first one.
Fifth one (drive) was a missed foul.
Sixth one (screen) was disgusting. Major problem with the league and the perimeter shooting
Seventh one (drive) was acceptable.
Eighth one (rebound flop) was fine. (maybe just for the other replay?)
Ninth one, Durant was pushed into him.
Tenth one (Durant jumper) was garbage.

All in all, Harden needed to realize refs weren't giving him those drawn fouls behind the 3 point line, but he kept going to it. Those perimeter screens are a big problem. They are the bread and butter of Warriors ball, too, that so many teams are being forced to play in the modern NBA.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

This is the second straight good opportunity for Melo, with this one being even more ideal than the first(OKC). Hopefully this one works out better and he gels here better/easier than he did with the Thunder.

Is Melo even a better 3 point shooter than Ariza?

Percentages say no but I’m sure there’s some advanced stat to tell me otherwise.

People need to give him a chance.

When was the last time he had a great system and teammates?

Don't mention that cluster in OKC.

For that money, he's gold. I can see him doing well there.

All I see is Harden fishing for fouls.

The play at 1:50 is why people dislike Harden and his game so much.

Klay reads the pick and tries not to lose Harden simply by arming his chest (which is a foul IMO and was rightfully called) but its pathetic how Harden feels this contact and initiates the follow through shooting motion the moment he is aware of it and then loses his mind as if he was chucking from that range the whole time. :noway:

The same way the lakers will look if Mozgov and Deng make the allstar game next year.

Oh I don’t know. Maybe that time he had D’Antoni in New York and got him fired.
