Re: Travis Wear signs two-way contract
He was quite good to end the season, he might even see some minutes given how little they've invested in traditional bigs.

Re: Travis Wear signs two-way contract
I like it. Wear plays hard nosed defense and knocks down the three. He’s a bench 3&D power forward. He will have plenty big games in the farm league and might steal some time from Beasley.

Re: Travis Wear signs two-way contract
Good move. When he came into the actual games last year, it didn't look like the game was too big for him. He stepped into shots and seemed much more confident than in previous times he's been around, whether it was pre-season or last years summer league.
If injuries happen, he can step in and be a shooter. That's valuable, especially from a front court position.

It's a two way deal. What else did you want?

Re: Travis Wear signs two-way contract
Well... that's a waste of a 2 way contract slot. I think we all saw enough out of Wear (and Caruso) to know that they have no business on the NBA floor. Why bother wasting more time on trying to develop them when its highly likely we can just keep em on a measley DLeauge deal, since i highly doubt other teams out there are interested in him, unless they're blind.
We def shoulda been looking for the best undrafted, unsigned, FA C on the market to sign to a 2 way deal. We're way more likely to be chosen by a promising big due to our lack of quality at the C position thus increasing the odds of a call up.
Eh, i wonder who Travis Wear's agent is...

The only time we'll be playing a C is to start each half or against really big teams. The front court most nights against teams that don't play big will be James/McGee (15-18 mins) to start. Kuzma will be the third big playing major minutes and if a fourth big is needed we'll see Wagner or Zubac.
PG: Ball [26]/ Rondo [22]/
SG: KCP [30]/ Hart [12]/ Ball [6]
SF: Ingram [34]/ Hart [14]/
PF: LeBron [20]/ Kuzma [28]/
C: McGee [16]/ LeBron [14]/
Still 18 more minutes to fill up at that C spot and I think it could be a combination of guys depending on the match-up: Zubac (big), Wagner (big) to get him experience if Zubac isn't playing well, Stephenson (small), more Hart (small) -- which would also mean more minutes in the back court for either Ball/Rondo/Stephenson, Beasley, or also more Kuzma/LeBron.

Re: Travis Wear signs two-way contract
Lebron aint playing C every night. If one of Mcgee Zu or Mo goes down with an injury, we’re already in the red zone.
Keeping Thomas Bryant or heck even throwing that Ayres dude a two way would have been more ideal.
none of the other guys are rebounders either. if we’re going to insist on going small ball, at least get a rebounder. like a Randle/Ed Davis type.
unless we’re counting on Wear to play that C role as the third string/insurance guy, it doesnt make sense.

Re: Travis Wear signs two-way contract
Pretty bad signing, we needed a centre badly (McGee and Zubac as our main actual centre's, stuff this positionless basketball, Kuzma and Beas will die at the 5).
Pretty poor by management unless this system is going to do to Centre what the triangle and Phil Jackson did to the point guard.

Got a feeling Luke's gonna play a lot of Bron at Centre - small ball ??? I don't like how we pretty much got Mcgee/Zubac I'd rather have lolpez - I like Zubac but he just aint ready

Ayres isn't eligible for a 2 way, I believe.
I would assume he'll be on the training camp roster. I also wouldn't mind giving Thomas Robinson another look. He could absolutely fill that small ball C role.

LeBron is going to be playing a ton of C, that's just the way it is. The only time he won't is when he's going against a traditional C.
Positions just don't matter anymore. I know it's hard to look at a depth chart and go, "but woah, Josh Hart isn't a PF, we can't play him there," but you're going to have to start doing it. I could see us playing with the following line-ups:
Ball (or Rondo)/Svi/Hart/Ingram/Kuzma
Ball (or Rondo)/Hart (or KCP)/Ingram/Kuzma/LeBron
Rondo (or Ball)/Hart/Stephenson/Kuzma/Beasley
Ball (or Rondo)/Svi/KCP/Hart/LeBron
Prepare to see some really weird line-ups to maximize minutes of Ball, Kuzma, Ingram, Hart. If that means playing them over having a traditional big like Zubac or McGee, we're gonna do it. I anticipate seeing McGee 12-18 minutes a night.

Wear is the right pick for 2way as the team looks for immediate help. We are not adding more youth unless its a 1st round level talent that can step right into games.
Wear will step into games if any extensive injury happens. He will give us good shooting and good enough switching defense without worrying about rookie mistakes.
You see even our 2ways need to help us now.

We need some size though, we can't go into the season with two 6'8-6'9 guys playing the majority of our centre minutes, also what a waste of Lebron if he's playing centre.
