Bottom line Masai never actually said he was not going to be traded. Just told him to focus on getting better for next year. I mean that's the same thing GM's and coach's tell all players going into the off-season. They give players a list of things they want each player to work on and outline the off-season for them. He overreacted and the crying on social media can stop now.

Seems like he's really hurt that Masai wasn't straight up about it?

Then again if the trade doesn't go through then where would that leave the relationship. Maybe better to keep him in the dark?

Also disagree with how he's downplaying 2 sweeps in a row.

Hes disappointed that Masai didnt let him know beforehand that he might be traded. Says he deserves to know after 9 years.

Said something to the tune of " Im not saying dont trade me, just let me know"

Also told a fun little story about Gay being excited that hes going to San Antonio.

Thats about it

Man, I know his Comp10 hat has a lot of meaning to him and stuff, but does he still have to wear it? It uses the old Raptor font. LOL The feels man. Let it go.

Nobody has a problem with what he said tonight. The problem is that he said completely different things last week, which were damaging to the Raptors and damaging to Masai's credibility. So what people are highlighting now is that he did actually overreact last week, and his drama queen posts were the reason for all the anti-Toronto anti-Masai hate that followed.

Dont bother, they will simplify his accomplishments and magnify his failures.

For a guy who showed loyalty like no other Raptor before him, who could have easily left for similar or slightly less money, and didn't...we had lesser star/allstars leave (Bosh, T-mac, etc. even though we offered the most amount of money). Let him be mad.

Hopefully this doesn't effect Kawhi relationship with Lenard in resigning. Maybe it will come full circle who knows. One thing we know whether masai flat out lied, mislead, or wasn't being 100% honest, or miscommunication, is that Masai is cutthroat, and will do anything it takes to improve the team, and I feel thats the best thing we learned here. Lesser GM's might have appeased Demar, and given him a super-max deal in 2 years time, just to keep status quo.

Eh Idk about that, we're not the ones on TV talking about being done dirty with Chris "Raptor hater" Haynes

Yeah, he could have left quietly and said it was a business and he loved Toronto, but leaving kicking and screaming should definitely be discussed.

Had he left and said nothing, everyone would only have respect. This is an indictment of his characters.

Players get traded all the time. For some reason our players leave and have these sit down bash our management sessions every time.

It showed in the regular season Demar. The PO is what he was discussing, and everyone knows it.

This deflection from reality. Honestly seeing his true colours now. He didn't care about winning titles, he just wanted to be a star and loved.

This is where you'd typically send a functionary like Webster to call up DeMar's agent and give him a heads up and ask him to let DeMar know smth might happen.

But the Raptors organization is so leak proof that they probably bristle at the idea of telling agents anything since agents are the sources for 90% of stories out there.
Interviewer: Championship #2?
Ujiri: Hey...We're gonna get it. I don't know when it'll be, but we're gonna get it. Just like I said we'll get the first one and I said I didn't know when we'd get it...But we will. Guarantee you we will.

Derozan's legacy in Toronto disappearing at every interview. Glad he's gone but didn't want to dislike the guy when he was.
