I'm gonna laugh so hard when Lowry throws Casey and DeMar under the bus for the playoff struggles in his typical passive aggressive manner. Man's tryna escape when Dellascrub busted his ass

Lowry was more than adequate in the post-season this year. He had a TS% of .659, for one thing.

He'll learn some lessons from this. Its his first time moving organizations.....

There is a world of difference between being upset, and making defamatory comments about your employer on the way out.

I've seen the whole "fired from their job" comparison on here, and what Demar did was equivalent to getting fired (or transferred to another city) and then sending a group email to everyone he knows that the organization lies and cant be trusted. Then later on, when hearing what the company said in response to that (when they shouldn't have had to say anything at all) is to send out another passive aggressive message implying that's not true either (the facepalm). Then his agent doubles down and says the same thing. And now, in an actual interview, he backs away from the initial comments and says that the company's story was actually what happened, that there was a discussion about the future that he was relying on that was taken away when the company chose to change directions. Now he is saying he wanted to be warned in advance - not that he was lied to.

In other words, he started all this anti-Toronto hate over a false accusation.
(and this is why people are escorted out of some companies when they are let go - to prevent things from getting worse)

How can I expect his supporters to understand the difference when Demar himself probably doesn't?

Meh. Its all very innocent in my mind. I kind of expected this from him.

Based on what I have interpreted over the years, Demar is a salt of the earth kind of guy & loyalty is big on his moral standard.

Right now he is experiencing kind of a "moral injury". He wasn't treated in a way that he feels people should treat one another.........especially when those people have a solid relationship.

Is there some naivete on his behalf when it comes to the business side......sure.

I tend to be of the same opinion regarding this.

I'm well aware of that. 14 he was solid and this year he was good. We can ignore the other years in between

DD felt entitled and above criticism. No surprise considering Casey babied him and Masai stuck with them for so long.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

The Demar hate on here continues to be so sad. It was pretty clear from the beginning that Masai didn't exactly handle this situation well, and his half apology didn't make it any better. DD has a right to be pissed. He'll get over it though. Hopefully RealGM will too.

Masai has been more loyal than Demar. Part of loyalty is living up to your end of the bargain. Masai kept Demar 3 years more than he should have, based on his playoff performances. Most Gm’s would think about trading him after the Wiz series sweep and definitely after two failed series against the Cavs let alone a 3rd. You have been shipped out cause you couldnt cut it, and we are in the business of building a contender not a pretender.

I don't think people should turn on him for this tbh. Its pretty normal for players to be mad at management when they get traded, especially when they didn't want to be traded

But it shouldn't be "normal". Again, be professional since you're working for a professional business. Masai did what hes paid for and brought in a better player on accolades alone. Masai is supposed to make the team better, not do what Derozan wants. He can be mad and frustrated behind closed doors, wouldn't hold it against him, but once he goes public, gloves are off.

I expected more from Derozan the man. Im very disappointed. I wouldn't boo him myself, but i wouldn't blame others if they did. Have some appreciation for the millions of dollars you get paid to do something you love.

At the start of the off-Season didn't Masai say numerous times that no one on the team is untouchable and he will make changes? Shouldn't DeMar have realized that he was on the block to begin with? Very few players ever get told a head of time that a trade is coming because the reality is these things happen so quickly and with no certainty until the deal is finalized. DD simply had unrealistic expectations and he better learn from this because most GMs would have handled the situation in the exact same way.

No crap. He feels "disrespected"? After what goes on year after year in the playoffs, he should feel embarrassed.

I don't think he thought he was untouchable i just think he was mentally prepared for next season with the raps after him and masai talked about expectations next season. Probably caught him off guard when the trade went down
