I still don't see Atlanta biting without added value. Atlanta is already under the salary floor, so creating more space this season really doesn't do anything unless there is deals lined up to take on expirings for picks.

I think Bazemore carries more value as a player then the combo of Henson and Delly. At the end of the day they are adding salary for next season that likely won't be able to be moved. I think Atlanta would have an easier time moving Bazemore for an expiring this season than they would being able to move Delly or Henson for cap space next season.

Now if FRP are wanting to be added, of course a deal would be worked out. Schlenk loves him some FRPs.

Ok all good, thanks for the answers. Doubt it's something we would attach a first for, as neither Delly nor Henson's deals are back-breaking, just would rather the wing depth over another big. Good luck for 2018/19, hope Trae and Huerter can develop into an exciting backcourt for you guys.

Hmmm...seems pretty fair. We would be taking on Mason’s 2019-20 14 mill tag but for our troubles we get Beasley and a 2019 1st. I might be in favor of this. Although we do have his brother whose got a hefty tag as well. They would be reunited!

I MIGHT!!!!

I got a question for Atlanta fans. What's going on with Bazemore? Is he considered a bad contract? If so, why?

I considering him to be overpaid for what he gives you. He is good defensively but doesn't do much on the offensive side of the ball, yet he gets 18 million a year.

I don't think he is considered so bad that Atlanta would attach assets to dump him though.

And then whispers of this nonsense starts leaking out:

A source said the Cavs were offered on draft night the chance to trade up to No. 3 with the Hawks in a deal that would've sent Kent Bazemore to Cleveland. Instead, Atlanta swapped spots with No. 5 Dallas, and the Mavericks ended up with Luka Doncic while the Hawks landed Trae Young.

I doubt it was a 3+Baze for 8 type of deal.

I agree with dms....he is overpaid for his production particularly on offense since he not a 'go get buckets' guy, he's decent when not asked to do too much, he's improved his handle enough to run some point in limited minutes, shoots it well from 3, his defense is good. He's not in the Chandler Parson bad contract mold.

Bazemore would be a good 4th or 5th starter on a team who makes a good bit less. The problem is on our team he is likely a top 3 option who gets paid like one.

Any way you look at it we're going to carry some bad salary throught the rebuild. Don't have any good players to pay.....

Just have to make sure not to over pay once the young guys are re-signed. The 2016 FAcy was the aberration that put about 30 disastrous contracts into the league..... eh Baze... Plumlee....

IBaze maybe able to help Trae navigate some of the off court distractions. And Baze has always been in tremendous physical shape and has some experience making a slender frame, NBA ready.

This.

It means that we will need to identify which players are worth paying. Knowing their market value...

AND MOVING CERTAIN PLAYERS BEFORE WE ARE FORCED TO OVERPAY.

It was J.R. +8 + remove protection for 2019 for 3 and Bazemore.

Anderson + what gets Bazemore?

Would Anderson + 2019 (or 2021 protected 1st) for Bazemore and a 2nd (perhaps the worse of the Lakers/Twolves 2nd yall have?) sound fair?

Or perhaps a larger deal

Anderson, Nene, Onuaku, 2019 first OR 2021 top 20 protected 1st (turns into 2 seconds if not converted), + future 2nd for Bazemore and Dedmon?

What would John Collins cost if he was made available? In this case Boston, reasonable deal would be?

Who would likely be considered off limits?
