I'm sure Shaq is shaking in his boots, with all the teams he bounced around to in the 2nd half of his career...

Vince is getting into the hall rather easily. Nobody ever counts the twilight years against these guys, it just doesn’t work that way.

Now if only we could bounce people like Skip out of our collective consciousnesses.

Bayless an idiot. AGAIN.

So true. And it’s really 100% that he gets in, 94.6% on his first year of eligibility sounds about right.

Have these people ever taken the time to look at careers of some of the people already in the hall? That’s why we get stupid realgm debates about Vince, Dwight, Bosh and Melo every so often. And then these people argue how these guys are going to water down the hall.

Guess what folks, they’re all getting in and it’s not even a debate for any of them.

What sort of successes outside of allstar game fan vote has he had?

There is no reality where a 10-time All-Star, six-time All-NBA pick and career 24-point-per-game scorer (18th in NBA history) is not in the Hall of Fame. Especially when you look at some of the slugs who are already in. I don't even like Melo but that's an HOF resume by any conceivable standard.

EDIT: Also three-time Olympic gold medalist and NCAA champion. I'd much rather the HOF be strictly NBA-oriented, but it's not so those achievements absolutely matter as well. Very, very few players have ever done that.

It's amazing to me how a man can be wrong on basically everything.

Carter played his way into HOF lock in those latter years by erasing the taste of him being the guy who whined his way out of Toronto. He is now an iconic talent with a heart-warming final act.

It's sad when your collegiate and international success outshines your NBA legacy. I wish Melo had a better NBA career where we didn't have to resort to these other things to declare him a hall of famer, which he is of course. I was just being divisive.

Vince Carter was easily better than Kobe Bryant at the same age. Not even debatable. Is Kobe not a hall of famer?

Neither of these statements are true.

Vince came into the league at 22, and at no point was Vince every as good as MJ or Kobe by the time they reach 22.

Kobe didn't play to 40, and MJ was better than Vince at 40.

Vince at no point was ever the best at his position in the NBA. He was a defensive liability, and again the 00's version of Demar.

He was not a defensive liability. He was just unlucky not to play with Shaq, unlike the rapist egomaniac.

That makes no sense , his career avg will take small dip but the career totals will only go up.

You either have him as HOF now or never. He’s decent HOF after McGrady got in, it’s a sure thing

The twilight years only really affect borderline HOF somewhat .

Stats and accolades aside, the greatest dunker of all time belongs in the hall. Skip's an idiot

I'm not even sure that is right. As somebody wrote earlier in this thread, once you've put a resume together that puts you in, you can't go backwards. All longevity does is add to you counting stats which is a positive.

He has quite shaky resume to make to Hall Of Fame apart of points. But considering what kind of players they take in he should be in within 10 years.

Pete Rose? Did they ever let him in.

Wouldn't you say the rose thing was like the Simpson thing?
