Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

So in other words the Rockets are willing to trade Anderson for any player that can conceivably stay on the floor against the Warriors? They should just give Atlanta what they want for Kent Bazemore and be done with the Anderson mistake.

Literally subtraction by addition, Rockets lookin like a solid 5 seed after free agency shakes out.

JR is only guaranteed 3 million while Anderson is 21 million next year. That’s why Houston wants to do it. Not sure why the Cavs would take on an extra 6 million this year and 18 million next year for a pick between 27-30.

It might be a better move than bringing in Melo.

You willing to bet any rockets fans on that 5 seed? Without or with JR Smith they got better players, better coach gm than the lakers and its not not even close and i am not fan of Houston

They already got the low rent version in Gerald Green, naw. No need. They need a 3&D guy that actually plays D. Baze? Wayne Ellington maybe?

Maybe Smith owes Houston-based attorney, Rusty Hardin, money again, and the team is just doing him a solid so that he won't have to serve papers to the guy on court again.

Perhaps the Rockets add De'Anthony Melton, who hasn't signed his rookie deal yet. Except for him I really can't see what they can send the Cavs to take on Anderson's contract.

It's a brilliant move since the Rockets will never be in a position to win the game against the warriors, his fault's won't come out. JR smith isn't a bad player to have to score buckets when you're down 10 the whole game. His issue is clearly clutch/important/tied game type of situations, but that won't be an issue. I can see the thinking here.

JR wouldn't be a starter or finisher on the Rockets.

Ryan Anderson isn't a starter, finished or middle of the game and teams need to have more than 5 players.
