Better question is why would the Raps want Kyrie when yesterday Raps fans said Kyrie was the most overrated player of all time. I guess he's only overrated if he's in Boston.

You talk about the Raptor fanbase as though it's comprised of a single person

Yeah you're right, apologies. They carry on like a mob of children around here so it's hard to tell one from the other sometimes. Sorry, non-annoying Raps fans, love you guys.

Thank god he’s going to re-sign with Boston so I can come back to this thread for the laughs and quoting everyone who is blatantly wrong.

I believe Celtics are better without him so I'll be laughing either way.

Ok mate. Cool story.

Boston fans think non-Celtics fans are against them. The truth is I want them to succeed and I want them to trade Kyrie because of that. I don't think his value add/salary ratio is high enough to warrant re-signing him and combined with the likelihood that he leaves it seems like a no-brainer to trade him from my perspective.

He’s said numerous times how much he likes the city, loves his teammates, has been linked to Gordon Hayward in the past, loves playing for Brad Stevens, Boston was on his original trade list per David Griffin, Boston can offer him the most money and the best chance to win. I don’t have proof per say that he’s going to resign, but I don’t see how anyone can make the leap that somehow he is ‘likely’ to walk

It's because you missed my point. There is no proof he will stay or if he will go. He's playing the pr game until next offseason.

Given that Kyrie has no allegiance to anyone but himself it's likely he makes best choice for his career and personal stardom.

When you consider it that way, the Celtics become 1 of 4 teams to sign him, meaning it's like a 75% chance he leaves.

What? What kind of logic is this? The default and neutral position is always to stay where you are. Unless there is concrete proof that he wants to leave, why am I supposed to treat this like a lottery and give each team equal percentage of him joining? Is he eligible in the 2019 draft?

Irving won't bring much due to opt out but the injury risk factor is too great for a max deal.

He is a lock to be gone so they should trade him. they arent a championship team with him, GSW is too good.

he doesnt want to be there and winning isnt his top priority. id assume knicks or clippers next year

Oh cool you've talked to Kyrie personally? He doesn't want to be on one of the teams on his list (David Griffin confirmed this), or for a coach he praises nonstop on his own accord, or Tatum who he just hosted a basketball camp with?

Thanks for the inside knowledge, I've been fooled by all the reality going on that makes it clear he wants to be there. Him not signing an extension is common sense, he can get 50 million more after the season from them.

Stevens, Irving, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Rozier, Smart, Horford, Morris, Baynes etc.

Man the Celtics have a lot of issues. Don’t know how they will make it through this next season.

I heard him on the BS podcast in June. He talked pretty glowingly about Bean Town. His dad played at BC if I recall and spent some time there growing up. I think he likes the city a lot.

Now, it will be curious about his role this year. I have no doubt he'll get his shots but he won't be the newest hot stuff on the block. I don't know how much he values that but it's an important consideration.

If I had to guess, I think he leaves. How does a KD, KP, Kyrie squad sound in NYC?

It’s the only time New York is ever relevant. Off-season rumors that never happen.

They will get their major FA eventually - only a matter of time. It's fun to speculate though on a basketball forum 8-)

I really thought they'd let Smart walk this offseason. So, I guess I don't really know what they'll do. I would guess that they will give him a fat contract and be happy.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I think re-signing a top 15 player to a max contract is warranted (let's see if he's finally healthy considering all the hardware is out and no infection, he said this is the first time in years since he feels healthy) and if he is healthy then you keep him, especially to attract more stars to Boston.

There is no likelihood whatsoever that he leaves, you can quote me on that. You can have that perspective but it's factually not true.

If only the Celtics board did have a poster with actual inside information, that had an impeccable record. And that poster said Kyrie loves it Boston and will definitely stay as long as they give him the max, which he also says they will do. Oh wait they do, and right on cue lol.
