The pussy pitcher for Lehigh Valley has walked Vlad three times in three plate appearances. He evokes fear already.

Biggio's Three True Outcomes rate is a staggering 51.4%. Add in the fourth true outcome (HBPs) and nearly 52% of his plate appearances end with the fielders as spectators.

**** your asterisk.

No thanks, Delilah.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Hey Schad, couple of questions:
1. How do you feel about the way Jordan Groshans has performed in the GCL so far? Should we be encouraged?
2. Is it really hard to hit in the DSL? I’m looking through the box scores now, and some guys are doing well, but it usually seems that whenever I check the box score for the DSL Jays, the only guy on either team hitting .300 is Hiraldo.

Noda has broken out of his 1 HR in 33 games stretch with two tonight. He will probably hit 12 by August 30th because nothing he does makes sense.

Well the big pop isn't there enough, but Rowdy Tellez was 4-5 in a doubleheader today, raising his average to .271. It's been a steady climb of about 50 points since June.

Jacob Waguespack is pitching today for Buffalo.
Also, he was born in Waco, Texas in the same year as the siege on the Branch Davidian compound.

Scouting Report
Pros: real gamer. Stuff plays up thanks to high compete level.
Cons: may be reincarnation of David Koresh?

We need to keep an eye out for him. Make sure he doesn’t start proselytizing.

Very encouraging. What little footage I can find of him hitting (and granted, it's usually when he does something good) seems to feature a less janky swing, too. Kinda curious if the change happened before or after the draft...if before, it might explain why opinions on his swing were wildly different. If after, good work by our people identifying a guy who could be cleaned up with relative ease to maximize his talents.
2. Is it really hard to hit in the DSL? I’m looking through the box scores now, and some guys are doing well, but it usually seems that whenever I check the box score for the DSL Jays, the only guy on either team hitting .300 is Hiraldo.
Pure supposition, but I'd imagine that there are a lot of guys who throw pretty hard and not too accurately in the DSL, which makes life difficult for scrawny 16 year old hitters. There are also a fair number of non-prospects at that level, so outcomes vary.
Great league for your ERA as a pitcher, however. Errors are plentiful...Hiraldo is up to 19 in 49 games, and on average 1.29 unearned runs per team per game cross the plate. That's a bit more than 4x the rate in the majors.
And because our system is odd: Gabriel Moreno didn't walk once in 20 games. He has now walked in three consecutive games.

**** your asterisk.

Pompey was suspended for arguing with the AAA manager...
might be the end of Pompey as a Jay here. He hasn't proved to be much more than a AAAA guy that can't be a major leaguer

SEATTLE – The Toronto Blue Jays suspended Dalton Pompey without pay after an altercation with triple-A Buffalo Bisons manager Bobby Meacham, a punishment expected to end in the coming days, multiple industry sources told Sportsnet.
The discipline stems from an incident last Saturday during a 2-1 win over Indianapolis. Pompey started the game in left field batting leadoff, walked in the first, made a catch in the field in the bottom half and was replaced by Billy McKinney, who pinch-hit for him in the top of the second.
One industry source said the 25-year-old from Mississauga, Ont., had a heated exchange with Meacham. He hasn’t played since and has been seen back home around Toronto.

AAAA is a bit generous for Pompey. That's usually reserved for guys who have a lot of success in AAA, which he hasn't had.

Re: 2018 Minor Leagues/Prospect Discussion Thread
He was hitting well in his limited sample this year, but at 25 and in his four partial season at the level, he should be hitting at least that well.
Bon voyage, Dalton; we will always have that grainy Youtube video of you chasing fly balls in Mississauga.
